Cat: TINTV 008. Rel: 29 May 24
You Got The Love (extended mix) (7:05)
You Got The Love (St Croix extended mix) (5:36)
You Got The Love (instrumental mix) (7:05)
You Got The Love (St Croix instrumental remix) (6:08)
You Got The Love (acappella) (2:23)
Review: So far in his career, Dr Packer has mostly delivered remixes and re-edits, breathing new life into disco classics old and new. Here he tries something new, namely covering Candi Staton's 'You've Got The Love' - a track that famously became a hit via a bootleg remix that added her vocals to a house track based on Frankie Knuckles' 'Your Love'. Packer's version is an organic-sounding disco treat - all rubbery bass guitar, cut-glass strings and rolling drums - that sneakily replicates the breakdown from a classic electrofunk number midway through. The Aussie producer also delivers instrumental and acapella versions, while rising star St Croix re-imagines it as a rushing, bouncy, mid-90s style piano house anthem. A summer hit and then some.

You're The One For Me
Cat: TINTV 006. Rel: 22 Nov 22
You're The One For Me (6:17)
You're The One For Me (instrumental) (6:18)
You're The One For Me (Ross Couch remix) (5:35)
You're The One For Me (Ricky Morrison remix) (7:20)
Review: No one does edits like the one and only Dr Packer. Whatever he turns his hand to turns to dance floor gold. This tidy new 12" on Tinted sees him join forces with the Sonic Soul Orchestra for 'You're The One For Me' which features the iconic vocals of Colonel Abrams. The original is just feels good and soulful house music. The instrumental strips away the vocal then comes a Ross Couch mix that bounces with more piano energy and a Ricky Morrison remix with plenty of dazzling disco chords.

Stupidisco (remixes)
Cat: TINTV 003. Rel: 15 Feb 22
Stupidisco (David Penn remix) (6:51)
Stupidisco (Deeperlove remix) (4:42)
Stupidisco (Jolyon Petch remix) (6:05)
Stupidisco (Elektrik Disko remix) (5:42)
Review: Back in 2004, when his muscular brand of peak-time house music was all the rage, Vito Lucente AKA Junior Jack secured a sizable club hit with 'Stupidisco', a squelchy and driving fusion of weighty tribal house beats, swirling electronics and giddy disco vocal samples. Here the track returns in remixed form for 2022. David Penn kicks things off with a thrillingly uplifting piano house update, before Deeperlove opt for energetic drums, sweaty fills, echoing vocal snippets and a suitably gargantuan bassline Over on the flip, Jolyon Petch joins the dots between rubbery nu-disco and turn of the '80s electro-disco, while the Electrik Disco mix is a funky, revivalist disco-boogie treat laden with rubbery bass guitar, sparkling synths and Chic-style guitar licks.

Been Dreaming
Cat: TINTV 007. Rel: 15 Aug 23
Minimal/Tech House
Odd Mob & GD Vandal - "Been Dreaming" (4:58)
Odd Mob - "XTC" (4:36)
Review: .Odd Mob & GD Vandal very much sounds like a hip-hop duo from the early 90s, but it is not. It is Brisbane based Harry Hope who has been making beats for a decade and more, and GD Vandal about whom nothing is known and this is only their first release. It arrives on Tinted and features two choice tunes. The first is a collab between the pair - 'Been Dreaming' - and is a full throttle house banger with catchy and impassioned vocal loops over thumping drums and nice raw hits. Perfect stuff. Odd Mob then goes solo for 'XTC' which is a deep tech throbber with a darker vocal.

Left To Right

Deep House
Odd Mob - "Left To Right" (4:36)
Planet Funk - "Chase The Sun" (Odd Mob remix) (5:37)
Review: Aussie house label Tinted is back with some real proper house music once again on this awesome release by ascendant Brisbane-based duo Odd Mob. First they serve up the massive 'Left To Right', an absolutely stomping heads-down number with serious basement vibes, while over on the flip they hand in an impressive remix of early noughties anthem 'Chase The Sun' Italian production team Planet Funk, taking the track into epic territory and geared for those eyes closed moments on the dancefloor.

Do You Want It Right Now
Cat: TINTV 001. Rel: 05 Oct 21
Do You Want It Right Now (Dr Packer 'Back To The 90s' remix) (7:16)
Do You Want It Right Now (Jolyon Petch 'Elektrik Disko' remix) (6:19)
Do You Want It Right Now (original extended mix) (7:38)
Do You Want It Right Now (Blueprint extended remix) (6:46)
Review: Taken from the soundtrack of the cult 1985 film Fast Forward directed by Sidney Poitier, Siedah Garret's legendary song 'Do You Want It' receives a much deserved remix package here, courtesy of Australian label Tinted. Some of their finest exports front up, namely Perth legend Greg 'Dr' Packer who is up first with his super low slung Back To The '90s remix, while Jolyon Petch's Elektrik Disko remix nails that deep funky house sound of the same golden era. The original still packs a punch too, and we can assure you it's indeed featured (over on the flip) in all its neon-lit electro-boogie glory.
