Review: Contraband from India is the result of DJ 2-Tone Jones travelling to India, collecting a load of "crazy ill traditional and Bollywood records from Calcutta" then returning home and sending out selected tracks to various hip hop artists and asking them to sample from them. Wajeed, Kev Brown, Ko, The Mighty DJ Dr, Joe. D and many more all serve up some stunning results that take you on a truly global musical journey. 'Joe D DaDaa' is a particularly standout joint while 'Samosa Costra Nostra' (feat Gods'illa & Substantial) has a classic boom bap feel and 'The Curryout' is a decidedly modern hip hop sound.
