Review: As PG Sounds, Philip Gelberg and Sven Reigler have delivered some of the most eccentric, interesting and off-kilter music on the SUED catalogue. On this much anticipated debut album, the pair continues in a similar vein, flitting between curious ambient experiments, sparse and ultra-dusty deep house, blunted instrumental hip-hop beats, mind-altering acid electronica, squelchy beat-scapes, rubbery techno wonkiness, deep space jack-tracks, twisted and brain-melting club stompers, and the kind of blink-and-you-miss-them interludes that will make you instantly rewind the vinyl to try and work out what's going on. It's the kind of set that defies easy categorization but is all the better for that. Recommended.

Review: DJ Sotofett is a cult hero with a sound that is never less than eccentric. This new album Braindance on Sued is a collection of material the mercurial one has written between 2002 and 2020. All of the tracks are short but high impact in different ways and despite some of them being the best part of 20 years old and pre-dating all the famous Sex Tags projects they still bang. Thrilling breaks, icy techno, mashed up jungle and deeper, more acid laced late night grooves all feature and offer a window into the mind of one of electronica's most vital talents.

Review: A warm welcome back to the SUED label, which returns to action - via a fresh EP from imprint regulars Dresvn (Dynamo Dreesen and label co-founder Sven Rieger) - after a hiatus of nigh on two years. Following a suitably spaced-out start (the weirdo ambient jazz of "Intro", featuring Tom Page on drums), the German duo offers up two mixes of title track "Metro". The first, the "Live Mix", is a fluid and off-kilter techno roller rich in deep, spacey synthesizer sounds, galloping drum machine beats, jaunty bass and sparkling lead lines. The "Studio Mix" is, as you'd expect, an altogether smoother and even more spacey sounding experience, with the pair conjuring up an ambient techno masterpiece that's more influenced by dream house than the sci-fi sounds of Detroit.

Review: SVN brings his class to the 30th release from German label Sued and does so in a deft dub fashion. Opener 'Dub 1' is a light and airy cut that raises you into a wide open sky with balmy pads and smeared chords. 'Dub Cafe' is a slower and more swaggering traditional dub jaunt with rippling keys and 'Dub 2' then acts you adrift on some cosmic chord work while nu-disco beats a la Metro Area pump the party from below. Last of all, 'Dub 3' is a more percussive and textural number with wonky beats and grinding keys. Plenty of variation makes this one an essential 12".
