Review: British techno legend Kirk Degiorgio makes a surprise appearance for Spanish main room techno purveyors Suara here. The man behind seminal releases over the last 28 years as Elegy As One or Korrupt Data among others, and running the Applied Rhythmic Technology (ART) label, you can sure bet Degiorgio brings the goods when called upon - and the Arc Mode EP is no exception. The title track is a barrelling peak time thriller, leading you through the strobelights and smoke machine with its dense dub chords, hypnotic acid and steely rhythms. Fellow UK legend Mark Broom steps aboard for a remix which reduces the track down to its cyclical elements, much like his own acclaimed productions on the Beardyman imprint. On the flip, feel the power on the pummelling warehouse energy of "Redeemer" which captures that Sunday morning Berghain vibe perfectly, and closed out by the adrenalised and hypnotic sonar transmissions of "Astral Cell".
