Review: The Pig Returns! Perma-shades rocking Dutch producer Mike 'Aardvarck' Kivits is something of a figurehead among the Dutch underground, happily flitting between styles across countless albums and 12" releases over a two-decade period. Since nestling in the picturesque climes of Indonesian paradise province Bali, Kivits has developed a bond with Swedish techno outpost Skudge Records which began with his humongous remix of Skudge cut "Convolution" back in 2010. After a couple of Skudge Presents 12"s, a new Aardvarck album lands in the shape of Co In Ci brandishing eight prime Kivits productions. This is the Pig in effervescent, rolling techno mood and a fine addition to a glorious discography.

  1. 2058 (5:44)
  2. Less End (4:50)
  3. U (5:11)
  4. Track 4 (4:31)
Review: Despite racking up a series of highly rewarding records for the likes of Borft, Skudge, and Tabernacle, Swedish producer Daniel Andreasson is as well regarded as he should be! Maybe this will change with a second 12" for the Skudge White label, NN EP, which features a quartet of productions that show off a different side to Andreasson. If the prospect of Braindance, Scandinavian style appeals then you will you will definitely like this 12". Lead cut "2058" sets the tone for the whole record, combining overworked 909s with heavenly acid-tinged basslines reminiscent of TM404 acid and sampled breaks you'd expect from a Sotofett 'Inna-Jungle-Mix'!

  2. Serpents (Florian Kupfer remix) (8:37)
  3. Dyspnea (Steve Bicknell remix) (8:15)
  4. Sunken Mosque (Ulwhednar Airokala remix) (6:19)
Review: It's been some two years since the release of Martin Skogehall and Thomas Jaldemark's debut album under the Fishermen alias. Here, Skudge has decided to give tracks from the album the remix treatment, with an impressive quartet of producers providing new interpretations. Cut Hands kick things off, turning "Serpents" into a spooky chunk of atmospheric, bongo-laden tribal techno that will please fans of his recent BEB output. L.I.E.S man Florian Kupfer provides a fittingly distorted, dubbed out broken techno rework of the same track, before Steve Bicknell delivers goes into thrillingly spacey, hypnotic and intense territory on his rendition of "Dyspnea". Finally, Northern Electronics pair Ulwhednar tackles "Sunken Mosque", focusing the action on deathly electronics, fizzing cymbals and droning, discordant rhythms.

  1. Cluster (6:53)
  2. Elysia (7:12)
Review: Nihad Tule is a DJ and producer born in Bosnia-Herzegovina, but now based in Stockholm. He is head of techno label Sloboda and half of the live act NTTA11 with Thomas Anderson aka Inter Gritty: head of the Random Island imprint. Here however, Tule teams up with Elias Landberg (Material Series/Multivitamins) as Taken: and this is the duo's second appearance for the Skudge imprint since 2015's explosive self titled debut. On the A side, we have got the hypnotic DJ tool "Cluster". Its restrained and hypnotic bounce is perfect to build the vibe during the earlier part of any serious DJ's set. On the flip is the atmospheric epic "Elysia" where again it is quite stripped back and lets that fat 808 thump carry the track (for the most part) until those airy pads and trance inducing melodies soon come into the fold.
