Review: Sengiley Recordings is a new label born in Russia that kicks off with a varied and vital mix of artists offering up their own takes on deep house. Opening up is 'Sisters & Brothers' from Colombian artist and co-founder of Nomada Records, Joint4Nine. He keeps it funky with a distinct 90s trip-hop feel, before Soul Bridges rework a famous Gil Scott Heron sample into a nice instrumental house groove with elastic bass. Flip it over for a striped back deep house beauty in 'Gardens By The Bay' then enjoy two versions of 'Doobie Moustaffi' - the first a loose, sample heavy and scuffed up deep house joint and the second a blissed out broken beat.

Review: Hailing from Russia, Sengiley Recordings is one of the most exciting labels at present. On their latest various artists EP, we have got Nomada Records co-founder Joint4Nine from Colombia serving up the low slung trip-hop breaks of 'Sisters & Brothers'. This is followed by Soul Bridges with the slo-mo boogie-down feels of 'Check The Vibez'. On the flip it's more of a housier affair, with Donnie Moustaki going deep on 'Doobie Moustaffi' which is a dusty and blunted jam in the vein of Berlin's Max Graef & Glenn Astro, plus a remix courtesy of one Sofatalk Xl - whose Regular Remix ventures into UK nu-jazz/broken beat territory.
