Review: Italian vinyl imprint Quality Vibe has had a consistent run of releases in the last few years, with some our favourites coming courtesy of Berlin legend DJ Honesty, British house underdog Tommy Vicari Jr and that great inaugural release by Harmonie Park boss Rick Wade. It's now over to rising Spanish duo 2vilas to take the reins, following up releases on top labels such as WAXISGUD, Off Recordings and Organic Musik. On the Destiny EP, we have the title track kicking off the A side in style - this deep, dusty and hypnotic jam is a respectful tribute to the Cab Drivers/Cabinet Records sound and is totally sublime. Fellow label alumnus Thomas Wood appears next, with a remix of the track where you can expect yet more smoky and hazy deepness that's perfectly suited to the early evening of the afterhours alike. On the flip, the tough and swing fuelled shuffle of "I Know" closes out this fine EP in style with its delay drenched chords used sparingly for dubby and hypnotic effect, in a way that Zky and Daniel Paul themselves would approve of. Review: Berlin-based Italians Gabriele Micheli and Riccardo Paffetti (aka Black Loops) have presented some great tracks over the last six years on labels from Toy Tonics to Gruuv and Madhouse, in addition to becoming staples of local imprint Neovinyl. "Arancini EP" comes courtesy of homeboys Quality Vibe, and the grooves on here (much like its name suggests), seem hard on the outside but smooth and saucy inside. It's the usual swinging' and boompty business you've come to expect from the label, especially on opener "The Leopol Swag". On the flip, we're loving the title track - a rolling after hours tech house (on the minimal tip) fare in conjunction with fellow Berliner Ed Herbst.

Review: Tommy Vicari Jr has been comfortably churning out quality deep - tech-laced - house music for a while now, and this latest three-pronged gunshot is a real sign of the artist's development in the studio. "Vision Of You" is the kind of house killer that can destruct any kind of floor, a weapon to any sort of DJ thanks to its smart sample and tight groove. On the B-side, "U May Not" is totally the sort of stance we like house tunes to take, a funky, loving sort of disco-tinged bomb that would make Pepe Bradock proud; hold your breath for "Glasp Reshape", an absolutely delightful house bomb to take you to chill town. A big release from Italy's Quality Vibe, and it most certainly deserves as TIP!
