Aura (Vuda Je) (2:55)
Kinda Dreamlike (5:58)
Gears Not Working (5:21)
Back In Balance (Equilibrium) (4:16)
Review: The Abstract Eye is one half of GB aka Gifted & Blessed aka The Steoples. He has a sound that brims with analogue electronics and could be from the future or 30 years old. His emotive sounds here take us on a journey through the cosmos with 'Aura (Vuda Je)' setting the scene some gentle modulations. 'Kinda Dreamlike' is what Omar S might sound like high on DMT and the EP highlight 'Gears Not Working' rides on a rugged beat with soulful electronics and loose chords adding light and warmth. 'Back In Balance (Equilibrium)' is a final future retro gem with more magnificent synth work.

Elysium (Full Experience) (13:21)
Elysium (Inner Experience) (4:09)
Elysium (Paradise dub) (7:42)
Review: With a name like "Elysium", you'd expect this EP from experienced producer Lars Bartkuhn to be blissfully melodious, unashamedly positive and musically expansive. It is, of course, with the original version of the title track expertly joining the dots between humid deep house, head-in-the-clouds jazz and the sun-soaked waviness of the Italian dream house movement. Bartkuhn makes great use of live instrumentation - horns, woodwind instruments and pianos, in particular - which are smothered in tropical field recordings and work in unison with a jaunty house groove. On the flipside you'll find two alternative takes: the effortlessly saucer-eyed, slowly building "Inner Experience" version, and the looser, more live sounding Paradise Dub, where the producer trades saxophone and synthesizer solos. Both are, naturally, superb.

Chaos In The CBD & Lee Pearson Jnr Collectiv - "It's Up To Me" (feat K LaDawn & Joe Armon Jones - instrumental) (6:07)
Review: On this rare outing on Neroli, Chaos In The CBD has been joined by a wealth of friends and like-minded musicians. They first join forces with saxophonist and fellow kiwi jazz legend Nathan Haines and talented South London keys player Dave Koor aka Modified Man on A-side "Emotional Intelligence", a deliciously deep, positive and melodious affair rich in jaunty Clavinet riffs, simmering strings, smile-inducing chords and groovy, bongo-laden drums. On side B they offer up vocal and instrumental versions of "It's Up To Me". K. LaDawn, Joe Armon-Jones and Lee Pearson Jnr Collective are the guests this time round, and their contributions - hazy, soulful vocals, mazy electric piano solos, jaunty jazz-house drums and so on - help make the track a sensual, slow-burn dancefloor delight. Almost all Chaos In The CBD EPs are worth checking, but this one is extra-special.

Sambu (6:31)
The Bitter Truth (7:46)
Dayride (5:52)
Review: The Neroli label is now onto its 51st release and the quality levels remain as high as ever thanks to these four fantastic cuts from Deenamic. 'Out Of My Mind' is scuffed up deep house with dragging kick drums and astro pads pulling in different directions to great effect. 'Sambu' brings Latin drum skips to the fore, with more swirling and celestial pad work, and it is a stunning fusion. The voodooistic 'The Bitter Truth' channels Theo Parrish in its busy arrangement and fizzing synths while last of all, 'Dayride' is a slow paced, jazz tinged workout that encourage you to sit bat and stare at the heavens.

Negev (3:45)
Review: This latest edition to the Neroli catalogue sees the arrival of a new album project from long time hero, Kirk Degiorgio. Imbued with folkloric sensibilities, Robe Of Dreams is an example of the sheer transportative abilities of electronic jazz fusion, melding sounds that are almost rooted but not quite of this world. The first track, 'The Ancient City', follows a cresting wave of shimmering synths - a portal into Degiorgio's hypnagogic soundworld. 'I Saw Pharaoh Levitate' features a melody that dances, skipping with the lightest touch across a field of glittering cymbal percussion. 'Sinai' explores the roughened textures of warped electric guitar riffs, woven to create atmospheres of marbled spaciousness and density. 'Robe Of Dreams', however, is the title track for a reason - expanding and contracting piano melodies melt effortlessly into dreamy electronic atmospheres, rising and falling and veering into moments of unsettling minor keys with extraordinary precision. A masterful and spiritual project from the extraordinary musician.

Twelve Steps (6:15)
Just Give It A Long Shot (4:06)
Review: Enjoying a brief sojourn away from then 2000 Black label he's long called home, sometime 4hero member Dego pops up on Neroli with a two-tracker that blends his usual jazz-funk inspired instrumentation with warm and fragrant, dancefloor-focused grooves. The jazz-funk influence is strongest on flipside "Just Give It A Long Shot", a more languid affair rich in squiggly synth lines, toasty bass guitar, slack-tuned drum breaks and the kind of group vocals that would have once sent rare groove heads into a spin. A-side "Twelve Steps" is arguably even better, with whispered vocals, jazzy synth lines and sunny guitars wrapping around a pleasingly rubbery Brit-funk groove.

Don't Stop (Let It Go) (feat Izzi Dunn) (7:18)
Save It Til Later (4:49)
Review: Assisted by long-time studio partner Kaidi Tatham, former 4 Hero man Dego's been on fire of late, delivering killer singles - and a fine album - for the likes of Eglo and Rush Hour. Here he pops up on Neroli again with more superb, soul-flecked dancefloor fare. "Don't Stop (Let It Go)" is particularly potent, offering a disco and jazz-funk influenced chunk of celebratory deep house laden with thrilling live instrumentation from members of "the 2000 Black family" (Tatham and others, basically). He completely flips the script on "Save It Till Later", a refreshingly rough and ready chunk of bass-heavy, acid-flecked house/techno fusion that benefits greatly for some particularly warped electronics. Darkness and light on one 12"; what's not to like?

The Hurt
Sunshine
Review: Yes! A brilliant induction into the Neroli annals of fame for Mr Dego and his 200 Black crew; joining the likes of Domu and Nubian Mindz in adding some classic bruk boogie perspective to Volcov's long running label. There's numerous reasons to check this triple hitting Find A Way plate, not least the title cut where Dego teams up with Akwasi and Kaidi Taiham, with the latter offering up a rare turn on vocals as opposed to manning the keys; the results are sublime and soul enriched boogie which offers a nice contrast with the deeper, rolling bump of "The Hurt". The amazing Bembe Segue turns up on "Sunshine" with Dego and crew wisely taking a step back to let her take centre stage.

Review: Broken beat innovator Dego and The 2000Black Family join forces for this latest 12" on Neroli Italy and it is a classy affair, as you would expect. 'Make The Right Move' opes in joyous fashion with gorgeously sunny synths and flesh bass over loose limed drums. The vocal harmonies are heart melting and the whole thing makes an indelible impact. After the instrumental version comes the 'The Stakeout,' a flute led and upbeat stepper with more lush Rhodes chords and a hint of MPB. Last fo all is the playfully sleazy and down low funk burner 'Jam Number Six.'

Lee Van Kleef - "In The Wrong" (feat Lifford - Manoo dublove mix) (6:01)
Review: Esteemed selector Volcov's latest compilation series, Inside, focuses on tracks that have never appeared on vinyl before. The first EP in the series is wonderfully soulful and sultry, and contains a trio of grown-up dancefloor cuts. On the A-side you'll find Blaze's revision of DJ Man X and Albert Sterling Menendez's effortlessly soulful "Consequences", an impeccable fusion of Osunlade style broken house rhythms and rich, organic instrumentation. There's a similar feel to the Abicah Soul remix of Lee Pearson Jr Collective's brilliant "Tell Me What It is", while Manoo's fine rub of Lee Van Kleef's "In The Wrong" encases a steppy, Latin-tinged house groove in jazzy piano solos, spacey electronics and lilting synth-strings.

Review: Broken beat fans take heed, the mighty Domu is back. Through his peak prolific years in the 00s Dominic Stanton helped define the scene orbiting Co-Op in London alongside Bugz In The Attic, Kaidi Tatham et al. One of his prime outlets for the skittering drum programming, rubbery bass and soul-drenched keys was Neroli, and now he returns to the label to toast their 60th release after something of a ten year hiatus. If you love Domu and the broken beat sound, you're going to love this record. Ascendant chords, rhythmic chops to jerk your hips to and a consistent warmth to keep you cosy - this is the sign of a true master at work.

This time with a more eclectic approach than the previous volume, exploring more electronic landscapes with Domu's downtempo ambience song aptly titled 'Point Of Entry' and Jamal Moss's unmistakable sound on his opus 'Black Hands Sound 63' on the first side. Review: Hot on the heels of the "Lush Culture" EP with Deetron that landed on Perpetual earlier this summer, more lush licks come from Mr Fred P aka Black Jazz Consortium. Four soul hurricanes that range in weight and emotion, the two poles here can be found slap-bang in the middle of the EP: "Moonlight" is a sultry brushed-drum break for lovers while "Riverside Drive" jacks like a rhino but soothes you with big breeze feels. Elsewhere "Reaching For The Stars" cruises on a skippy break with airy early 90s New York pads and "New Ways" closes on a stunning 88 tip. Have nice dreams y'all.

Review: Volcov steers the good ship Neroli towards more of that immaculately curated deep gear you know they do so well. The Inside series reaches part three with another heavyweight cast, leading in with the mighty Fred P on the crisp rhythms and considered chord movements of 'Time Well Spent'. Rest Symbol follows up with a powerful strain of synth orchestration which adds a moody intensity to the record, while Resonating creates a raw, seductive beatdown on 'J707' that will satisfy any discerning outboard house fiend. Patrice Scott then seals the deal with a submerged 'Beat Version' of an untitled track that course through snaking rhythms at a slower tempo perfect for some backroom scene setting or creative warm-up blending.

Review: House music's ability to make you feel good is part of its appeal, and artists like New Jersey majesty Josh Milan of Blaze fame, and London broken beat astro Kaidi Tatham sure know that. They link here with Patrick Gibin for an EP that brims with summer time soul, joyous keys and funky bass riffs that are impossibly sweet. Jazz funk, house and boogie all colour the tracks here with "Don't Be Rude" brining the cosmic vibes and "Groove On" making you want to move for days with its killer b-line and disco energy. Gorgeous stuff, for sure.

Love To The World (Theo vocal mix) (6:27)
Love To The World (Theo acappella mix) (3:14)
Review: Neroli is always a safe port of call for real, soulful strains of house music, but even by their own standards they've gone further out this time around. The dream team of Patrick Gibin and Kaidi Thatham backing Josh Milan on vocals was a house holy grail when 'Love To The World' dropped last year, but now that magical combination of artistry gets a shot in the arm from the one and only Theo Parrish. On the A side, the Detroit legend lays on one of his inimitable rugged beatdowns, decorated with piano flourishes and punctuated with clattering percussion that takes the track higher and farther. On the flip, the track gets stripped right back for a special acappella version which lets Milan's voice and the light-fingered piano work intertwine in a beatless reverie.

Review: We still mourn the late Phil Asher, so it's great to see someone's still carrying his torch. On this latest release from Neroli, label staple Nathan Haines offers up some formerly unreleased collboarations with the broken beat legend, which he happened to have hoarded prior to the latter's death. The three tracks featured here are nighttime dreamscapes, only tinged with the idiosyncrasies of Asher's production, but which nevertheless epitomise the late great's sound. 'Brother Of Mine' especially does so, with carnival rhythms and blue, rudimentary Rhodes notes underlying its vocal backbone.

Review: Chicago's Shannon Harris goes in real deep on this latest 12" for the incorrigible Neroli imprint and as per usual, it's nuthin' but shimmering quality throughout. Harris revisits two of his classics; first on his Lucid Dream mix of "Into The Light", a jazzy, deep house number featuring the vocal talents of Brandice Manuel, and then on the Elektrix remix of Kinetic Energy, a hazy lo-fi cut which would make the perfect soundtrack to any sunrise. Bliss.

Nutmeg - "Tangent"
Review: Italian imprint Neroli grace us with the second in a series of 12 inches prepped to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Volcov's label is known for excelling in many styles and that's aptly demonstrated here. Jus Ed's better half Jenifa Mayanja kicks off with future boogie of "Sunset" which sees her ethereal voice glide over an increasingly off kilter jazz bump. Chicago veteran Anthony Nicholson follows with relentlessly uplifting vocal assisted groove of "Communication". The real gold however is nestled on the B Side, with "So" from Mancunian Be (Prime Numbers/Wolf Music) a heaving mass of Detroit influenced brilliance which locks into a Rhodes heavy and delightfully soul flecked groove midway through. Nutmeg aka UK legend Dego rounds things off on a high with the rusted bruk step danger of "Tangent".

And we mean soul; "She Don't Want To Be" is an exquisite dreamy percussive house cut that sits somewhere between Faze-O and MAW. "In Spring" maintains the woozy daydream feel while shuffling up the groove into more of a party-minded affair while "Can't Get Enough" is pure, uncut Detroit house funk. Beyond authentic.

Review: Remarkably, it's been 23 years since Motor City legend Alton Miller released his first 12". Here, he dips into the archives of previously unreleased material to present a trio of cuts From The Vaults. He's at his positive best on "Waiting For You", a loose and organic sounding deep house gem smothered in slick, modern soul vocals, hazy chords and jazzy musical motifs. There's a slightly more bumpin' feel about the similarly soulful "Run & Hide", which benefits greatly from chunkier beats, bolder bass, and some fabulously spacey synth solos. Best of all, though, is instrumental flipside "In The Spirit", where dislocated vocal snippets and winding melody lines ride a dense, Afro-influenced drum track.

As usual, he uses the opportunity to fuse traditional Chicago house tropes - the dreamy fluidity of Larry Heard, the sharp acid lines of Phuture, and so on - with percussion and instrumentation from the world of Latin music. The results are uniformly excellent, from the twinkling pianos and winding acid lines of "Dizzy Vibes", to the dusty electronic jazz bliss of closer "Friday Grooves", via the "Brazilian Rhyme"-goes-house shuffle of "Otra Voz".

Review: Returning to his fruitful Latin Soul Brothas venture, Ricardo Miranda once again reaches across the Atlantic from Chicago to Italy to collaborate with Neroli on this sturdy and varied four tracker. "808 Signatures" instantly stands out, working around a skippy groove that features more cowbell and rimshot than anything else from the fabled drum machine, while a looping synth creates a cheeky, left of centre feel. "Voices Of The World" is a more summery, piano-led jam with a Larry Heard flavour, and "Faces Revenge" pulls everything back for a slow but sturdy DJ tool. "Mental Samurai" cools everything off with another richly melodic jaunt through floating pads and gossamer beats.

Review: Since rising to prominence thanks to his association with Jamal Moss's Mathematics Recordings imprint, Marcello Napoletano has delivered memorable material for the likes of Gravity Graffiti and Berceuse Heroique. Here, he pops up on long-running Italian deep house and broken beat imprint Neroli. The real killer is opener "Neroli Track", a formidable analogue jack-track built around clattering machine percussion, crazed synth bass and off-kilter electronics. That said, there's plenty of tried-and-tested dancefloor fodder elsewhere on the EP, from the breezy, left-of-centre piano house jam "Love Me", to the dense tribal intensity of humid closer "Innamorato".
