Review: Landers and Dalholt are becoming increasingly associated to the Music For Dreams imprint, out of Denmark, and we have to say that their particular strain of electronica is very much in line with our current tastes for all things Balearic and downtempo. The pair land on our charts with their debut LP, a magnificent ride across intergalactic soundscapes that seem to mesh and blend with each other seamlessly, the sounds entering a balance of their own. All that being said, the starry-eyed melodies and atmospherics that loom large over this piece of work do find their way into more energetic, more dance-centric moments that make this a truly complete album from these two relatively young producers. Much more to come from them, surely.

Review: Danish electronic fusioneer OG Anders Remmer returns with his first album since 2009's Sorry and Music For Dreams is the best possible place for his return. A label that encourages arrestingly immersive soundscapes and experimentation, Hello Ambient Wash is perfectly at home here; the fluttering baroque arpeggios on "Sine Song 5", the breath-taking choral synth textures on "Wow", the cosmic sunset twinkles on "LTL" and the soft pops and plucks on the pastoral sojourn "W30" are just some of the many charming highlights on this highly impressive comeback album. Come say hello...

Review: Having bubbled away with Balearic intentions on Mackrory's Forgotten Corner, then last year's rather successful "Elle Dit" on Music For Dreams, Nick and Harry galvanise their spiritual partnership with a full album. Exploring their fusions, palette and complementary styles on a much broader canvas, across the 11 tracks and three remixes we're treated to touching steel drum drama and delicate introspection ("The Other Side", "Aranjuez"), bumpy harmonic bossa ("Lucky Charm"), lilting nylon strings and psychedelic vocals ("Inside You") a stunning cover of "Wichita Lineman" and plenty more. A truly perfect summer album.

Review: Nearly a decade has passed since the last compilation that Balearic stalwart Moonboots had a hand in putting together (a brilliant contribution to Claremont 56's much-missed Originals series alongside fellow Mancunian selector Balearic Mike), so this fine set has been a long time coming. As you'd expect, his selections are spot on. Atmospheric, gentle and sun-kissed, the Aficionado co-founder's choices flit between contemporary gems (fine cuts from Begin, Blank & Jones and Natureboy), slept-on goodies full of glistening guitar motifs and heaps of delay (see July Skies' brilliant "The Softest Kisses") and older cuts that will be unknown to all but the most dedicated Balearic diggers, including a fine, loved-up track by Paul Hardcastle called "Moments in Time" that's worth the admission price on its own.

Review: Not being satisfied with his debut for Music For Dreams - coming through on the label with the wonderful Island LP - man like Ruf Duggles is back on the Danish imprint with some brutally sublime remixes of the tunes featured on it. The always excellent Peaking Lights reshapes "Speedboat" into a dubby, chilled-out kinda jam, while AL Breadwinner proceeds to deconstruct "Rasta Beach" and turns it into a minimal dub groover fort the after hours. On the flip, 2814 mystifies "Tendacayou" into a wave, air-filled lick in a new age kind of vibe, whereas Kenneth Bager goes all balearic on us for "Dominica". Lovely.

  12. Om Buschman - "Hey Tata Gorem" (Wolf Muller edit) (4:54)
  13. TCP - "At The Water-Hole" (Wolf Muller edit) (4:13)
Review: Tropical Drums of Deutschland is an intriguing proposition. Put together by Jan Schulte, whose Wolf Muller project draws influence from exotic new age music and gentle global drum rhythms, the compilation focuses on "tropical" music made in and around Germany, most during the mid to late 1980s. It's a fascinating listen, but far more introspective and melancholic than you might expect. Of course, there are percussive tracks that feel dancefloor-friendly - see Argile's "Tagtraum Eines Eleganten", and Sanza's beguiling, drums-and-vocals workout "Sounouh" - but for the most part the material selected by Schulte (and, on a couple of occasions, re-edited) tends towards the horizontal. This is not meant as a criticism; if anything, it makes the collection a much more beguiling listen.

Review: Last year's eponymous debut album from Silent Riders was something of a slept-on gem. Here, one of the highlights from the hazy, minimal wave-influenced LP is given the remix treatment. Thrillingy, there's a killer dub from the legendary Dennis Bovell - itself edited by Body and Soul man Andi Hanley - and a wonderfully evocative, stretched-out synth-pop meets cosmic disco rub from Whatever Whatever. Music For Dreams boss Kenneth Bager lends a hand on the band's own sparse and stretched out Extended Mix (think Plaid's classic productions for Nicolette from the late '90s, and you're close), while Kaspar Bjork's heady, metallic disco take is an atmospheric delight.
