All Your Time (4:45)
In Your Mind (5:00)
Review: Angelo & Jacoby are embedded fixtures of the international experimental music scene, both of them already having co-founded the esteemed ambient esoterica label Multi Culti. Now once more, they reap the fruits of their labour by releasing on their own imprint; 'In Your Mind' is a brand new two-tracker of surreal, hallucinogenic Balearism and phoned-in vocal samples. Emotive and serene, as if to describe a post-revolutionary world in which world peace had been truly achieved, 'All Your Time' and 'In Your Mind' are gutpunching deep downtempo cuts backed by ultra-deep string samples to boot.

Andi Otto - "Amakondera" (feat Evariste Karinganire) (5:12)
Golden Bug - "Toro" (4:30)
Review: More oddball grooves from the always reliable Multi Culti camp out of Montreal. Thomas Von Party has curated another fine collection of tracks on the second installment of Axial Tilt: Solstice featuring Philadelphian duo Zillas On Acid giving the remix treatment to Sheila Chandra on the slo-mo psychedelia of 'Raqs', while Mexico's Inigo Vontier goes global, incorporating didgeridoo, sitar and world beats on the entrancing 'Timbale' (Makale mix). On side B, Sababa 5 & Yurika provide what's undoubtedly the stand out track on here with the uplifting 'Nasnusa' (Kino Todo & Danelz remix) and Golden Bug goes down into the cosmic hole on the druggy and low slung 'Toro'.

Ma Shiva (Invisible Conga People remix)
Open Your Eyes
Review: Clarian has largely impressed since making his debut on Visionquest last year. Following solid outings on Culprit and Turbo, he pops up on hyped Canadian imprint Multi Culti. There's a distinctly global feel to proceedings throughout, with Clarian melding Indian and South American influences with woozy, Visionquest-ish deep house grooves. The slowly unfurling deep house exotica of "Dystopia" is probably our pick, though the deep synth-pop style eyes-wide-shut haziness of "Ma Shiva" also impresses. The EP's best moment actually comes from Invisible Conga People, whose trippy, late night reinterpretation of "Ma Shiva" - all heavy, analogue-sounding bass, delay-laden rhythmic shuffle and tactile late night electronics - is simply superb.

Third Eye Dub (Azu Tiwaline remix) (6:13)
Aima (Auntie Flo remix) (4:34)
Naeku (Multi Culti Micro dub) (5:06)
Review: Nicola Cruz's 'Hybridism' is the subject of this heavy hitting remix EP on Multi Culti, and it kicks off with Hivern Discs boss John Talbot. His take on 'Naeku' is tribal and steamy as it meanders through a jungle with mystic chords and pads. 'Third Eye Dub' (Azu Tiwaline remix) is as rhythmically inventive as you would expect of the artist and in the hands of Aunt Flo, 'Aima' is a fresh afro rhythm with watery effects. The in house team then serve up a so-called 'micro dub' of Naeku for more darkened dance floors in the middle of the night.

Kawe's Dream (feat Ayan) (3:28)
Review: When it comes to hybrid blends of intoxicating world music sounds and contemporary dancefloor rhythms, few producers are quite as accomplished as Nicola Cruz. He's at it again on "Hybridism", the Equador-based Frenchman's first EP for Multi-Culti for almost three years. Opener "Aima" sets the tone, with Cruz wrapping lilting synth lines, weirdo electronics and chanted vocals around a bubbling electronic groove, while "Naeku" makes the most of echo-laden drums, what sounds like an African children's choir and faintly foreboding acid lines. "Drom Tradisie" is an exercise in trippy sounds and layered percussion, "Third Eye Dub" is a darker and moodier slab of techno-exotica and "Kawe's Dream" is a blissful blast of clarinet-sporting musical positivity.

Umarmung Aus Holz (7:31)
Fur Die Paar Heller (10:18)
Review: Sascha Funke's latest EP bears all of the aural hallmarks of his chosen collaborator, Niklas Wandt. The latter is arguably best known for his percussive, off-kilter tropical cuts produced alongside Jan "Wolf Muller" Schulte, but has also been involved in numerous new wave and krautrock style bands. Hints to all of these musical inspirations can be heard throughout the EP, from the stylish spoken word vocals and chugging krautrock grooves of "Die Sage", to the foreboding new wave/tropical drum dub fusion of epic closing cut "Fur Die Paar Heller". Elsewhere, "Lobotomie" sees the duo wrap fluttering pan pipes and spacey synths around gentle tropical drums, while "Umarmung Aus Holz" is a funky and foreboding, guitar-powered krautrock workout tailor made for end-of-days dancefloors.

Hermetics & Hannah Lee - "Lux Naturae" (4:58)
Magic Pirate - "Make Me A Jazz Coffee" (3:34)
Review: Nice to see some material from Multi Culti on vinyl this week. The Montreal-based label's brand of off-kilter nu-disco strains are once again on fine display on the first edition of Multi Culti Solstice. Mexican producer Inigo Vontier (Duro) collaborates with Russian duo Simple Symmetry to kick off the first side with the deep, late-night groove of 'Hocus Pocus', followed by the always impressive Ponty Mython with the dusty and blunted junkyard beats of 'Pinto La Meah'. Over on the flip, Hermetics & Hannah Lee get into some seriously low slung oddball business on 'Lux Naturae' and Magic Pirate takes you to a higher state with the meditative rhythms of 'Make Me A Jazz Coffee'.

Inigo Vontier - "Masicka" (6:29)
Thomass Jackson - "El Hihat" (6:17)
Thomass Jackson - "Naive Song In E Minor" (6:52)
Review: Multi-Culti has invited us to join their "Calypso Cult", a shadowy musical organization with two named leaders. First to set out their tropical pagan manifesto is Mexican maverick Inigo Vontier. He first layers trippy, dubbed-out spoken word snippets and whistling synth lines atop a chugging arpeggio groove on "Jubile Is OK", before reaching for the hand percussion, dark electronics and weird noises on heavyweight throb-job "Masicka". Fellow cult leading light Thomass Jackson steps up to the podium on side B. His message is a little hazier and more spaced out, with the hypnotic eccentricity that is "El HiHat" being followed by "Naive Song In E Minor", a wonderful combination of undulating melodies, locked-in tropical percussion and feverish Balearic flourishes.

Review: Everyone's favourite cult record label - and some might say UFO religion - Multi Culti are back with a fresh homing-in on the artist Thomass Jackson, who delivers a sprawling array of squelchy, lo-fi acid jams on the EP 'UFO House Vol. 1'. Scouring endless extraterrestrial untrodden voids of sound, we begin with the mouth-filtered 'Belgian UFO Wave' before seguing into the likes of the sizzlingly weird 'Aphex Twinkie', before concluding on the uncanny, janky popper 'Back In Guadalajara'.

Thomass Jackson - "Slow Train" (7:15)
Inigo Vontier - "Jungle Tungle" (6:58)
Inigo Vontier - "Hipocampos" (5:38)
Review: When it comes to heavy chug, Multi Culti has always known exactly where to strike to make the most memorable or - more accurately - inescapable impact. Thomas Jackson's 'Slow Train' is just the latest case in point, then, drawing dancers and listeners alike in with its warm-hued, hypnotic synth lines, stabs and warbles in all the right places to ensure that while not that much happens, you'll be stomping about like everything was going on at once. Far from a one-track-wonder, Calypso Cult II is the label setting out all its stalls with aplomb. 'Jungle Tungle' is a strange, somewhat shrill, constantly building and percussively dominated workout that's tough and yet not actually that tough. 'Big Plastic Room' is peak time acid meets Kraut oddness, while 'Hipocampos' brings things to a beautiful close with beguiling, downtempo sludge.

The Throw (Dreems Sounds Of The Universe remix part 2 & 3)
Review: Sydney's electro-psychedelic-indie outfit, Jagwar Ma, drop two new mixes of their 2013 hit "The Throw" on the Multi Cut label. There's three parts in all, where the first one, Dreems Sounds Of The Universe Part 1, is made up of a delicious blend between acoustic instruments, delicate electronics and wailing vocals; the piano keys riding across those desolate soundscapes with utter class. Parts 2 and 3 enter party mode, with subtle bursts of 303 acid mixing nicely within the original track's poppy nature.

Clockshop (album version) (5:44)
Review: Earlier in the year, Multi Culti dropped the first collaborative album from MD Pallavi and Andi Otto, a decidedly cosmic and otherworldly, but undeniably alluring and accessible affair entitled Song For Broken Ships. This expansive remix package sees a wealth of artists (including the pair themselves) give their spin on two tracks from the set. On side A we get three passes on 'Prayer To The Cloud': a bleeping, intoxicating and heady deep house interpretation by Simon De Kunovich, a dreamy downtempo version by Peter Power, and a 'Prayer-a-Pella' based on the track's Hindi vocals. Over on the B-side, the pair's sub-heavy and shuffling 'Clockshop' comes accompanied by two new tweaks. Auntie Flo's fine, Kwaito influenced rework is followed by a sparse, echoing and minimalistic revision courtesy of Kaleema.

Review: Having set out their stall via a fine first collaborative release on Bordello a Parigi a couple of months back, Mytron and Ofofo pitch up on Multi-Culti. As you'd expect from a label with such a strong track record of multi-cultural musical fusion, much of the EP defies easy categorization. Sure, you'll find a chunk of Italo-influenced electro ("Non-Binary Joys on the Venus Holodeck") and a couple of slabs of madcap disco-funk fusion ("Si Jambo" and "2Tac Onana"), but also a heavyweight slab of low-slung punk-funk/post disco ("Czary Mary"). Oh, and the skewed electro-funk-meets-intergalactic synth pop insanity of "Something for Your Mind", which also boasts some notably brain-melting vocoder action. More, please!

Review: Andi Otto is a talented chap, frequently performing his own hybrid electronic/acoustic compositions with a "sensor-extended cello bow" (known as the "Fello") developed in cahoots with STEM in Amsterdam. Here the Hamburg-based artist continues his exploration of unusual instruments via a first studio album (his third in total) for Multi-Culti. There's much to admire throughout, from the chiming bells and exotic melodic motifs of opener "Gavotte Mantra", and the intoxicating, slo-mo mysticism of "Six (feat. MD Pallavi)", to the clandestine brilliance of "Manu Roto" and Steve Reich-on-an-acid-trip ambient bliss of closer "Sheepbells". For added dancefloor interest, Otto has also included fine reworks by rising star Nicola Cruz and Gomma alumnus Golden Bug.

Review: Irishman Peter Power has become quite a well known figure in Berlin since moving there several years ago and has been one of the figures behind some of the city's now legendary haunts like Kleine Reise (RIP) and the successful Loftus Hall/Bertrams: which has had a great run thus far too. Now the man behind the Ufordia imprint returns with his second outing on Thomas Von Party's Multi Culti, which itself has also made the move to the German capital. Power delves deep into the exotic here, borrowing heavily from African music and getting very atmospheric and esoteric in the process. The life affirming raindance of "Adama Waro" (original mix) is certainly geared for some moments of truth on the dancefloor. Equally spiritual is the traditional percussion based journey of "Mori Baka" (original mix). There's some great remixes by label manager Dreems and Bucharest duo Khidja: the latter's contributions which shine the most, particularly on their balearica infused/Second Summer of Love sounding remix of "Dansakoni".

This time they're doing their thing for Thomas Von Party's Multi Culti out of Montreal and it's not bad at all! "Waiting For A Surprise" is cheeky indie house with some catchy vocals and a fine groove guaranteed to pack a dancefloor. "The Metal Bender" is on a more cruisy and atmospheric vibe, sounding like something on Kompakt and perfect for the after-hours. On the flip is "Hope" which merges said indie sensibilities of before with a minimal house vibe which is on the more sinister and druggy tip, showcasing their knack for a variety of grooves in their arsenal.

Review: Set your phasers to chug - Multi Culti are back with a new compilation which follows their astrologically charged series from 2021's Multi Culti Solstice II. As ever, the Canadian label deals a strong line in globally-informed dance music with cheekiness in its bones and an inherent spirituality, faithfully upheld by their assembled disciples. Across the eight tracks there are many highlights, but a few for us include Jamie Paton's sinewy 90s dub house workout 'Sub Ritual' and Kunturi's rhythmically-elevated ritualistic acid joint, 'Eclosion'. Strap in for another wild ride far and wide with the most adventurous label in town.

Review: The second installment of Multi-Culti's Moon Faze Sun Gaze series is a typically psychedelic affair, with an impressive cast of producers delivering a quintet of trippy workouts. Von Party & Dreems join forces to present "Wet Raga", a spaced-out combination of delay-laden drums, space disco electronics, and Eastern mysticism. The ever-reliable Red Axes fuses heavy post-punk bass, with punchy percussion and minimal wave melodies on the excellent "Boosha Gdola", while Dreems go solo on the weirdo acid-electro bubbler "Sine O'The Tymes". Nick Murray and Kris Baha underpin psychedelic disco electronics with the heavyweight throb of house on "Say Something", before Cocolo draws proceedings to a close with the pitched-down shuffle of analogue wobbler "F33lings".
