Moog DFAM Semi Modular Analogue Percussion Synthesiser
Moog DFAM Semi Modular Analogue Percussion Synthesiser (percussion synthesizer/drum machine)
Cat: 675126 Rel: 09 Mar 18

Semi-modular analogue drum machine
Notes: The Drummer From Another Mother is Moog's take on a drum machine. Essentially a semi-modular synth with a built-in sequencer, all designed to create unique percussion sounds. Hugely creative

Supplier's notes:
DFAM is the first addition to the Mother ecosystem of synthesizers and presents an expressive hands-on approach to percussive pattern creation. It requires no patching, and absolutely no experience is needed for human-beings of any age to quickly begin synthesizing new and unique rhythmic compositions.

Activated by an easy-to-use analog sequencer, DFAM's emotive sound begins with a white noise generator and two wide-range analog oscillators - effortlessly transitioning between rhythmic pulsations, resounding bass and resonant bells in an instant. DFAM's distinctive voice is then shaped by a classic Moog Ladder filter with two selectable modes: Low Pass mode imparts impact and dimension to each sound it touches, while High Pass mode opens the door to naturally expressive strikes, spikes and clangourous accentuations.

DFAM behaves much like a living organism, reacting in different ways to different individuals. 3 dedicated analog envelopes work dynamically with the sequencer to ensure that tribal toms breathe, industrial impacts evolve, and sonic chaos can be created or subdued at the turn of a knob.

Each DFAM ships with a package of Moog patch cables that unlock access to the 24-point modular patchbay. Use it to create new sounds or bizarre behaviours, synchronize an unlimited number of DFAM and Mother-32 units together, or fully integrate your analog instrument into a modular Eurorack production environment.

Through exploration and experimentation, the vast potential of this expressive analog instrument is realized.

Moog Etherwave Theremin Analogue Synthesiser
Moog Etherwave Theremin Analogue Synthesiser (etherwave theremin analogue synthesiser)
Cat: 873120 Rel: 14 Apr 22

Moog's Etherwave Theremin provides an accurate five-octave pitch range and balanced spacing between notes for a highly sophisticated degree of playability
Notes: The latest in a series of iconic instruments from Moog, the Etherwave Theremin harks back to the very start of Bob Moog's career but introduces modern touches and CV outputs to control modular gear.

Supplier's Notes:
Moog's Etherwave Standard and Etherwave Plus set the bar of performance theremin design over the last two decades. Now, the all-time highest selling theremin models get an update to become simply the Moog Etherwave Theremin.

Combining analogue playability with unprecedented performance potential, Moog's Etherwave Theremin provides an accurate five-octave pitch range and balanced spacing between notes for a highly sophisticated degree of playability.

Updated analogue electronics have been used to create Bob Moog's classic theremin circuit design while improving bass response in the lower registers.

The refined cabinet features hand-finished hardwood and two quickrelease plated-brass antennas. Additionally, rear-panel I/O connections and a detachable mic stand adapter ensure quick setup on the go.

Easily accessible front-panel controls allow for spontaneous changes in timbre, and the antennas' response can be adjusted to suit any player and their environment (advanced users can go a step further via the calibration access panel on top of the instrument).

A front panel headphone output-with dedicated volume control-pairs with the addition of a Mute button that silences the main audio output, while leaving the headphone output active for privately adjusting timbre and tuning. In addition, Etherwave Theremin can connect directly to-and control-your other modular, semi-modular, and Eurorack synthesizer systems via CV (Control Voltage).

Control your synthesizers or effects while playing the theremin by patching into Etherwave Theremin's 3.5mm Pitch CV, Volume CV, and Gate CV jacks for a completely new performance experience.

Semi-modular analog synthesiser
Notes: All-new black look as the Matriarch semi-modular synth joins Moog's Dark Series. Classy looks inspired by the brand's vintage synths, classy modern take on the Moog sound.

Supplier's Notes:
Matriarch Dark is a new color variant for Moog Matriarch. Matriarch Dark presents the same great features, sounds, and specs as the original colorful Matriarch, now offered in an all-black color scheme that invokes the timeless look of Moog's classic modular control panels.

Matriarch is an analog synthesizer with an emphasis on imagination. The pinnacle of Moog's semi-modular family of synthesizers, Matriarch's patchable architecture and classic Moog circuits reward open exploration with endless sonic possibilities and unparalleled analog sound.

Easily create rich harmonic shapes with up to 4 notes of paraphony that can be sequenced, shifted, and stored with Matriarch's intuitive 256 step sequencer, or stack the analog VCOs to play on a massive 4 oscillator mono synth.

With a deep assortment of synthesis modules based on Bob Moog's original circuit designs, Matriarch's 100% analog signal path spans a dynamic sonic vocabulary - from overdriven monophonic bass to gently evolving paraphonic plucks that cycle through waveshapes into a wash of infinite delay trails . Coupling the power of vintage-designed stereo ladder filters, dual Envelope Generators, stereo Analog Delays, and stereo VCAs, Matriarch delivers a multi-dimensional sound that empowers the sonic exploration of space and time.

Cat: 881241 Rel: 14 Jun 22

Mavis is a build-it-yourself analog synthesizer kit that delivers the huge depth of sound Moog is known for in a compact and feature-packed instrument.
Notes: Killer value from Moog's entry-level synth. Easy to assemble from a few components (no soldering required), then explore the classic Moog sound with Eurorack-compatible semi-modular patch points.

Supplier's Notes:
Mavis is a build-it-yourself analogue synthesizer kit that delivers the huge depth of sound Moog is known for in a compact and feature-packed instrument. Assembly is extremely simple; users of any skill level can quickly assemble their own analogue synthesizer with minimal tools and experience. Perfect for first time users and established synthesists alike, Mavis' semi-modular design and 1-octave keyboard will get you started making sound immediately without the need for additional equipment (except for a speaker or headphones). As a stand-alone instrument, Mavis is a straightforward analogue synthesizer with patchable modular utilities and the unmistakable Moog sound and quality. Easily remove Mavis from its case and it becomes a 24-point CV controllable module (44hp) ready to be installed into your Eurorack system or alongside Moog's other semi-modular instruments. Mixing the familiar with the exotic, Mavis features Moog's legendary oscillator and filter circuits alongside a diode wavefolder - the first analogue wavefolder to appear on a Moog instrument. Combining traditional subtractive synthesis with additive wavefolding and oozing with personality, Mavis' clever presentation of synthesis modules and utilities ensure deep creative synergy and musical connection.
Mavis is a powerful, fun, and low-cost Moog that makes learning synthesis or expanding an already-advanced studio setup approachable for anyone looking to explore classic analogue sound in a new way.

Built-in keyboard with Glide and KB scaling

As a standalone instrument or as a 44HP Eurorack module, Mavis adds an expressive 1 v/o controller to any setup with the flexibility to dial in experimental new pitch relationships via the KB scale knob and explore musical intervals that go beyond the established standards.

Full Range Analogue Oscillator

A Voltage Controllable Oscillator with PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), Waveform mixing, and Mod Source mixing, delivers rich harmonic character and motion.

Voltage Controlled Filter

Sculpt your sound with the -24-dB Moog Low Pass Ladder Filter, delivering the sonic power behind the distinct sounds of Moog basslines and leads.

Audio Rate LFO and 4-Stage Envelope Generator

Mavis uses crossfaders in its modulation routing instead of switches, allowing you to blend between a variable shape LFO and four stage envelope generators for interesting and unusual modulation contours.

Wavefolding and Modular Utilities

Mavis features Moog's first-ever wavefolding circuit, allowing for additive synthesis to sit alongside traditional subtractive synthesis, and features a broad modular utilities section complete with attenuators, offsets, mults, and a flexible DC-coupled mixer.

Patchable Sample and Hold (S+H) circuit:

Generates a random CV pattern that can be patched to modulate other parameters, including setting Mavis into a "random sequencing" mode of performance.

24-Point Patch Bay

Mavis is eager to play along with other voltage-controlled devices (especially with Moog's other semi-modular instruments), and its useful collection of utilities and flexible control voltage routing allow for intricate dialogue between them.

Protective Cover

Mavis includes a fitted protective cover for use during studio downtime or taking your instrument on the go.

Build one yourself. Get closer to the circuits at the heart of Mavis and come away with a Moog analogue synthesizer that is uniquely "yours". No soldering is required and can be completed by any skill level in an afternoon.

This compact yet mighty synthesizer with classic Moog circuitry, a built-in keyboard, 24 patch points, and an all-analogue sound engine-complete with Moog's first-ever wavefolding circuit-offers great value to any synthesist.

Moog Minitaur Analog Bass Synthesizer (black)
Cat: 444692 Rel: 17 Apr 12

Moog analog bass synthesiser
Notes: The Minitaur is a compact analog bass synthesizer that features a classic one knob per function layout. It is the first instrument in the Taurus family that does not have foot pedals.

The Minitaur has all the growl, snarl and body associated with the Taurus family of bass synthesizers. Moog are really excited to be able to offer this in such a compact package that is both immediately playable as an extremely versatile analog synth and also integrates seamlessly into the world of MIDI and USB control environments, says Cyril Lance, Chief Engineer of Moog Music.

The Taurus Bass Pedals enjoy a nearly 40-year history and have made a seismic impact in the music world since their introduction in the mid-Seventies. The Taurus opened up so many possibilities for me, it also opened up a whole way of looking at what I do, says Geddy Lee, of the multi-platinum band Rush.

In 2009, Moog Music released the Taurus 3 Bass Pedals, a modern reinterpretation of the classic Taurus Bass Pedals. The Taurus 3 is currently used by artists such as The Black Keys, Animal Collective, Jean Michel Jarre, Yes, Weezer, Rush and The Dave Matthews Band.

Since the inception of Moog Music, Bob Moog tested his ideas, instruments and sounds on musicians as a key part of the product development process. In keeping with this tradition, Minitaur has been presented to a broad array of producers, artists and songwriters including Geddy Lee of Rush, techno legend Derrick May, Flying Lotus, Moby, the renowned record producer Nick Raskulinecz as a part of the final product development process. The enthusiastic response from these artists marks the beginning of the next generation in the Taurus Bass Synthesizer line.

Moog Subharmonicon Semi Modular Polyrhythmic Analogue Synthesiser
Cat: 776833 Rel: 30 Jun 20

Analogue synthesiser
Notes: Subharmonicon is a semi-modular polyrhythmic analog synthesizer that employs a 6-tone sound engine and multi-layered sequencers to explore the world of subharmonics, polyrhythms, and the unique relationships they create.

Subharmonicon's characteristic sound starts with two analog VCOs and four Subharmonic Oscillators for a total of six powerful sound sources. Each subharmonic tone is mathematically derived from one of the two main VCOs, giving the resulting chord shapes a beautifully coherent quality. Onboard quantization lets you dial in perfect intervals every time with selections for multiple tuning systems. Choose from contemporary Equal Temperament settings, the heavenly intervals of Just Intonation, or the unlimited freedom of no quantization at all.

Animating Subharmonicon's distinctive chord shapes is done through a polyrhythmic pair of 4-Step Sequencers. Each sequencer is clocked by any or all of four Rhythm Generators that output mathematical divisions of the master tempo. Layer multiple Rhythm Generators on top of each other to create complex polyrhythms and discover inspiring new patterns and styles. Delve into Subharmonicon's dual Envelope Generators, Moog Ladder Filter, and analog VCA to call up dynamic articulations ranging from lush pads and blurred edges to percussive plosives and ritualistic rhythms.

Although no patching is required to start creating, exploring Subharmonicon's modular patchbay unlocks worlds of possibilities as you make novel connections and plug into new ideas. The 32-point 3.5mm patchbay can be patched into itself, expanding Subharmonicon's onboard capabilities, or interfaced with Mother-32, DFAM, and other external Eurorack-compatible gear (MIDI Type A adapter included for DIN to 3.5mm MIDI input). Use as a standalone synth with included +12V DC power supply or simply remove the front panel to install into any Eurorack system.

The Moog Subharmonicon is a versatile analog labyrinth of subharmonically derived synthesis and polyrhythmic sound.

Subharmonicon is inspired by Joseph Schillinger's mathematical system for musical composition and is influenced by two analog innovations from the 1930s and 1940s: the Mixtur-Trautonium, which employed a series of subharmonic oscillators to generate electronic undertones, and the Rhythmicon (developed by Leon Theremin!), an instrument capable of sounding multiple harmonically related polyrhythm generators simultaneously.

The Mixtur-Trautonium created subharmonics by dividing the frequency of its primary oscillator, while the Rhythmicon created polyrhythms that were multiplications of its primary tempo. These concepts of subharmonics and polyrhythms form the historic roots of the Moog Subharmonicon.

The undertone series, or subharmonic series, results from the division of an initial fundamental frequency (f) by successive integer values (unlike the overtone series, which results from integer multiples of the fundamental frequency). Where overtones are found to occur naturally in acoustic sounds, undertones must be produced through more extreme or novel methods, such as electronic circuitry.

Polyrhythms employ multiple rhythms playing at once to create complex, interweaving phrases. In the same way that a subharmonic oscillator divides the fundamental frequency (f) to create a musically related subharmonic, each rhythm generator in Subharmonicon uses an integer value to divide the current tempo value (t) to create a new rhythm.

Moog Theremini Theremin (white)
Cat: 519900 Rel: 16 Jul 14

Theremin with traditional heterodyning oscillator for pitch control with built-in speaker
Notes: The Theremini is a re-imagination of one of the oldest electronic musical instrument in history, and Bob Moog's first love - the theremin. Its design fuses the experience of performing with an instrument you don't actually touch, with a powerful sound engine derived from Moog's award winning synthesizer, Animoog. The Theremini guarantees immediate success to any player at any skill level, while providing new ways to experiment with music, education, and gestural control.

Assistive pitch correction allows each player to adjust the instruments level of playing difficulty. At the maximum position, the Theremini will play every note in a selected scale perfectly, making it impossible to play a wrong note. As this control is decreased, more expressive control of pitch becomes possible. When set to minimum, the Theremini will perform as a traditional theremin with analog heterodyning oscillator and absolutely no pitch assistance.

A built in tuner supplies real-time visual feedback of each note as it is played, as well as its proximity to perfection. This is useful for correcting a users playing position, or to educate younger players about pitch and scales.

The presets section allows you to select from 32 wave or wavetable-based patches, store a selected scale & root note, set and recall a specified playing range, and specify per-patch settings for the included stereo delay.

Recessed in the top of the Theremini is a compact speaker perfect for private rehearsal and quick setup anywhere. Silent rehearsal is also possible via front panel headphone jack. Simply plug in ear-buds or headphones and the built in speaker becomes silent.

For live performance and gestural control, the rear panel features two line level audio outputs, a pitch CV output with selectable range, and a mini USB jack for MIDI I/O and connectivity.
