Mad Professor 1 Distortion & Reverb Effects Pedal
Cat: 616031 Rel: 10 Jun 16

Distortion effects pedal with reverb circuit designed to produce intense drive while retaining high definition
Notes: "1" is a distortion/reverb pedal designed to provide the sought after "brown" guitar sound of the late 70's early 80's, when played through a clean amplifier.

Like that legendary tone, this pedal produces intense drive while retaining high definition. The pedal also includes a built in reverb circuit to add ambience and depth to your sound.

"1"'s gain ranges from medium to very heavy distortion. The amount can be easily controlled via the volume control of your guitar. (Input impedance is set to facilitate this, and is somewhat negated if a buffer or buffered effect is used ahead of "1".)

The Brown knob controls the amount and harmonic overtones of the distortion. Getting the exact tonal quality is the key to this legendary sound and "1"'s Brown and Presence controls help it appropriately interface with a wide variety of pickups and amplifiers.

"1"'s built in Reverb circuit with a Level control for setting the ambience. The sound is modeled after the studio reverb found on classic recordings from the 80's. The decay time is preset so as not to mess the rhythm of your playing. The preset decay time and tone can be modified with trimmers inside the pedal.

Mad Professor Amber Overdrive Effects Pedal
Cat: 615024 Rel: 10 Jun 16

Fat and juicy overdrive effects pedal with a hint of fuzz, produces sought after thick tone even when played into a clean amplifier
Notes: Amver Overdrive - Fat and smooth overdrive

One of the most sought after guitar tones is a combination of a great overdrive or fuzz pedal into overdriven tube amplifier. Amber Overdrive produces this sound even when running though a clean amplifier. It produces a very thick sound whether playing chords or single notes - fat and juicy with just a hint of fuzz.

Though highly saturated, this dynamic overdrive can be cleaned up with the volume control of your guitar. As with all Mad Professor pedals, it offers a wide range of dynamics and expressive touch sensitivity.

When you plug it into a clean amplifier, Amber Overdrive can give you the massive sound of a saturated amplifier running wide open. It can also be used as a slightly distorted boost to increase saturation on slightly overdriven amplifiers.

NOTICE: Amber Overdrive is a medium input impedance device that places a light load on your guitar pickups to produce a smoother tone. it will work best as the first pedal in the chain. if you run a buffered pedal ahead of Amber Overdrive you will get an increase in treble and upper midrange.

Build the Mad Professor way: small footprint and big tone.

Controls
Volume: This knob sets the overall output level of the pedal.
Drive: settings from low to center will allow you to control the saturation with the volume control on the guitar - To use amber as light overdrive set this control at the beginning of rotation.
Tone: This is a boost/cut "shelving" type equalizer that controls the amount of high end, operating somewhere between a bright switch and the treble control on most amplifiers.
Tone: turning this counterclockwise reduces the amount of high end. If you must run a buffered pedal ahead of Amber Overdrive try lowering the treble.

Electrical specifications
Current consumption: 2,5mA@9V
Voltage range: 7,5-12 V
Input impedance: 45K
Output drive capability: 25K Ohms
Complete true bypass and input of circuit
grounded in bypass

Mad Professor Amber Overdrive With Midas Touch Mod Limited Edition Pedal
Notes: Golden Cello has been one of the great success stories at Mad Professor. Of course it has, how could you not love a single pedal that has the tone of a vintage fuzz stacked with overdrive going into tape echo and a 100W vintage Marshall. Now, not everybody wanted the delay section of the Golden Cello because they placed the pedal early in the signal chain and then the delay was placed in the not so optimal spot. Enter the Amber Overdrive, which has the same golden guitar tone and exactly the same overdrive circuit as in Golden Cello. Only the output of the Amber Overdrive was increased compared to the Golden Cello. This was a popular request and we listened to our dear customers!

Now this captivating saga will have yet another chapter!

Over the years we have had some requests on maybe looking at somehow shaking up this loved circuit a bit, that it somehow could stand out in a mix a bit more. Not everybody is a rock star playing 5-note patterns with their own trio and not having to deal with the volume level of their guitar.

Now we looked at it! Amber Overdrive with Midas Touch mod brings more harmonic definition and carefully added silky presence to this highly sought after distorted tone bordering on fuzz. It is like the circuit got a new heart of gold and the golden tone got even more golden! Like you found another vintage fuzz or overdrive that was even better piece of the puzzle and sums up even more satisfying harmonic content! Amber Overdrive with Midas Touch mod has the fat and saturated but cutting liquid lead tone you've always dreamed off!

Complex pedal stack into big amp driven to saturation in one single pedal, inexpensive luxurious! These limited edition hand modded in Finland custom series pedals are available until further notice. Grab your limited edition pedal while they are here!

Mad Professor Big Tweedy Drive Pedal
Cat: 635225 Rel: 03 May 17

Drive effects pedal for guitars
Notes: Big Tweedy Drive pedal is voiced after a super rare High Powered Tweed Twin amp. The pedal gives you the highly sought-after vintage tone that has big fat punchy midrange and sweet gnarly bite like the late 50 's American amplifiers.

Like the big vintage tweed amps, the Big Tweedy Drive has the same tactile dynamics and touch sensitivity players are raving about: adjust the amount of gain with your picking attack or the guitar volume. This makes the pedal fit into a surprisingly broad range of genres: jazz, blues, rockabilly, country and rock 'n 'roll.

The pedal stacks very well too, so you can find the more saturated and higher gain tones by placing a booster or an overdrive in front of the Big Tweedy Drive for extra gain and sustain. Or you can place the Big Tweedy Drive in front of a clean amplifier or boost an already distorted amp.

The tone controls help you to fine tune your tone when using the pedal with different guitars and amplifiers.

VOLUME: Sets the output voltage.
GAIN: Adjusts the amount of distortion.
TONE: Adjusts high frequency tone. Adjustment range is from significant high frequency cut to slight high frequency boost. The wide spectrum Tone control can either soften the tone or add some brightness to your straight signal.
PRESENCE: You can fine tune the shimmer and cut with Presence knob that adjusts the upper high end.

Turn both TONE and PRECENSE knobs down for a mellow fat tone or turn them up for a bright cutting rock tone.

The pedal cleans very well from the guitar volume pot and thanks to the finely balanced compression the volume level will be adjusted just the right amount.

- Current consumption 10 mA at 9VDC
- Supply voltage range 7.5V to 12V (9V recommended, the sound of the pedal depends on supply voltage)
- Input impedance 220kOhm at 1kHz
- Output impedance 1kOhm
- Complete bypass (true bypass)

Mad Professor Blueberry Bass Overdrive Effects Pedal
Cat: 615017 Rel: 10 Jun 16

A high quality dynamic overdrive effects pedal for electric bass guitar, features true bypass circuitry
Notes: The BBO was designed for electric bass to get light to medium overdrive reminiscent of vintage tube bass amplifiers.

While mainly designed for bass guitar, the BBBO can also be used with other instruments for low, dynamically controlled distortion.

Controls:
Volume: controls output
Drive: sets the amount of distortion and sustain, as well as the type of distortion. Lower settings give dynamically controlled overdrive, the unit distorts more the harder you strike the strings and there is no definite clipping point, but rather different shades of distortion as the amplitude changes - Higher settings will give more compressed sounds. A good starting point with most basses is fully CCW, turn the knob until you find the overdrive level that suits your playing. Lower settings are good for old school tube amplifier tone, while higher settings gives denser distortion.
Nature: is a tone control for filtering and to control what register distorts. Turning CCW gives more low end and also distortion in the lower registers. Turning CW gives an emphasis in the upper midrange for more protruding solo bass tone.

Electrical specification:
- Input impedance approximately 500K Ohms
- Recommended load 50K Ohms
- Current consumption at 9V approximately 4 mA
- Max gain at 1KHz approximately 50 dB
- Supply voltage range 8-12V's
- True bypass

Power requirements:
6F22 9V battery or DC eliminator
2.1 mm plug

Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay Effects Pedal
Cat: 615027 Rel: 10 Jun 16

BJF design ambient delay effects pedal with analog direct signal path
Notes: BJF design ambient delay pedal.

Hand-made in Finland premium quality delay pedal.

Deep Blue Delay is a natural sounding digital/analog delay, with analog direct signal path. The Deep Blue Delay has about the same bandwidth as the classic tape echo units, and it can be used in front of an amplifier or in amplifier effects loops.
- There are no noise reduction circuits, which keeps decay of echo as natural as possible.
- The direct signal path is short and made with analog amplifiers with no filtering.
- There should be no distortion or tone coloration as long as input level is in range below maximum allowed.
- The echo signal has a tuned filtering to allow extreme settings without interference.

The delay is specially designed to work well with distorted tone, as this is the most critical application, where delays often fail.

You can use the pedal before or after distortion. As such, it will work exceptionally well on clean sounds where requirements are less stringent, especially in terms of echo bandwidth and repeat formation.

The delay tone has been carefully tuned with lot of attention to the first critical reflection and how the repeats decay.

Deep Blue Delay is kept small (Width x Length x Height :69mm x 111mm x 50mm including jacks and knobs) containing just the basic delay features; Delay Time, Delay Level and Repeat controls. It was designed to work as an ambience delay; like that of a vintage tape echo and the repeat formation was specifically designed to allow easy setting and less critical setting of delay time. With delay times higher than 120ms, the delay time is sometimes set on the beat or on a multiple of the beat. Deep blue handles this by not giving full range repeats, but a tuned response that don't need to be on the beat to sound good.

Why digital? Isn't Analog better for a solid-state solution?
Well, in many ways, the delay medium is less critical and it could be an oil-drum, tape, metal-thread, analog BBD or digital, but the final sound is always set by the limitations of the delay medium and the peripheral circuitry needed to make either work. We chose Digital construction to make it compact, stable, with reasonable delay time and virtually service free, where the limitations of the circuit would be less critical. As an outcome, you can set the peripheral circuitry with desired bandwidth and distortion levels with less consideration on the exact limits of the delay medium, while of course always pushing the limits, as with anything musical.

A similar circuit in analog form would be excessively more expensive to make. For the same performance, it would require three to four of the best BBD chips now only available as vintage parts and the size of the pedal would have to be about three times the current size.

Controls:
Level: Sets the level of delayed signal mixed with straight guitar tone, fully CCW there is only straight (un-effected) guitar signal heard and fully CW gives the loudest delay.
Delay: Controls the delay time from 25ms (fully CCW) to 450ms (fully CW)
Repeat: Controls the repeats of the delay signal, fully CCW gives one repeat and at fully CW you get infinite feedback.

Mad Professor Dual Blue Delay Pedal
Cat: 656380 Rel: 26 Sep 17

Intuitive delay effects pedal for guitar
Notes: The rich, fat and warm sound together with the well thought out functions makes the Mad Professor Dual Blue Delay one of the most intuitive delay pedals out there.

Mad Professor Dual Blue Delay is exactly what the delay loving modern day musician has been looking for!

The Tones and the Hidden Functions Behind the Switches:

- Short delay has a maximum delay time of 315ms and a fatter tone well suited for slapback and old school echo tones.

- Long delay reaches 810ms and is a cleaner delay, great for lead tones or modern ambient. Use MODE/TAP switch to toggle between these two slightly different delay tones.

Keep the MODE/TAP switch depressed for 0,9 seconds to engage both delays (short and long) in parallel. Now you can have the shorter delay ON while toggling the longer delay ON or OFF. Keeping the ON/OFF switch depressed brings you the exciting multi head mode (a must-have for all instrumental rock and Pink Floyd fans). Tapping the MODE/TAP switch twice will of course give you the tap tempo. When using these modes, tapping MODE/TAP switch once will return you to where you were before entering the effect mode.

In addition, the Mad Professor Dual Blue Delay has echo only output (for wet/dry rigs), switchable buffered or true bypass and switchable phase shift for the multi head mode. No need for a special power supply, the pedal runs on 9V 80mA.

An intuitive pedal with but powerful capabilities for the experimenting musician!

Mad Professor Dual Blue Delay With Deep Mod Custom Limited Edition Pedal
Notes: Dual Blue Delay is a simplistic, intuitive design which makes you spending your precious time playing and feeling inspired instead of navigating sub menus. Rich, fat and warm sound and the well thought-out functionality is exactly what most wanted. However some mods were requested over the years and we brought all of them together for a Custom Series version: SHORT side is now made to replicate exactly the sound of the world famous Deep Blue Delay. Matt Schofield fans can now dial in his famous slap back, room emulating, always-ON echo. And you can even set the SHORT side darker than Deep Blue Delay if you will. Then some bass frequencies were cut a bit from the LONG side (effect only)and you can now set the delay level high without the fear of overwhelming delay.

Lastly: in the original version we have two slightly different sounding versions of the same multi head configuration to choose from, as for the multi head delay. These are influenced by old vintage tape units. Now in the Custom Series Dual Blue Delay with Deep mod, one of the multi head sounds is replaced by a new multi head configuration inspired by Echorec position 7 sound which is used by David Gilmour and Hank Marvin for example. This is set as a default and the original version multi head tape type delay is selectable.

Multi head configuration in the original (selectable in Deep mod) has a triplet feel being 2/3 and this has a lot of fans among instrumental rockers a la Shadows. Echorec position 7 influenced multi head delay (set as a default in the Deep mod) has a quarter note feel and has a lot of fans among the ambient instrumentalists. Now remember, when blending in two delays for creating rich textures and layers.. there is no better, just different. True instrumentalist loves them all!

Mad Professor Electric Blue Chorus Effects Pedal
Cat: 615031 Rel: 10 Jun 16

Highly transparent chorus effects pedal with Blend, Depth & Speed control knobs
Notes: Chorus pedals for everyone!
We wanted to design a chorus pedal, that would please ALSO people, who do not generally like chorus pedals.

A chorus effect is achieved by mixing a dry signal with a modulated signal (vibrato, delay, etc.) simulating the effect of more than one instrument playing the same part. Traditionally one would mix a vibrato effect and a dry signal in equal portions to get the chorus effect. This may lead to a metallic quality of sound.

With the EBC "Blend" knob you can adjust the mix of these two and get tones from mild to wild.

The Electric Blue Chorus (EBC) uses a sine wave generator for a more pleasing and gentle "liquid wave" sound.

The EBC has a very musical modulation with even stronger chorus settings and tones that lean toward vibrato that sets it apart from most other chorus pedals.

With the "Depth" and "Blend" knobs one can also adjust in a very mild, barely audible chorus that adds some dimension and depth to your tone.

The EBC is also very quiet and transparent with very little filtering. Traditionally chorus pedals have had a treble loss, noise, or a metallic tone especially when used with distortion.

The EBC was designed to be used with both clean and distorted tones and works equally well both in front of or after a distortion pedal.

Controls:
Blend: this is a control for setting the mix of the modulated and the dry sound. Turn it up for a more intense effect
Depth: this a control for setting modulation depth. Turn it up for a deeper effect.
Speed: this is a control for setting the speed of the internal oscillator

Sample settings (clock positions):
Strong chorus: Blend 5, Depth 3, Speed 12
Floating vibe-tone: Blend 5, Depth 4 , Speed 10
Fast rotating speaker: Blend 3, Depth 3, Speed 5
Mild chorus: Blend 12, Depth 12, Speed 12

Electrical specifications:
Input impedance: approx. 400K
Output impedance: approx. 2K
Power consumption: 40mA@9VDC
DC supply voltage range: 9-12 VDC

Mad Professor Evolution Orange Underdrive Effects Pedal
Cat: 615021 Rel: 10 Jun 16

Underdrive effects pedal for getting leaner tones from your favourite overdriven tone
Notes: Evolution Orange Underdrive

Evolution Orange Underdrive (EOU) offers a new way to approach your tone. Instead of overdriving your clean tone, now you can get cleaner tones from your favourite overdriven tone.

That is what we call underdriving.

Evolution Orange Underdrive works really well with vintage single channel amps that sound great when you push them to overdrive.

When you turn down the volume from your guitar to clean that tone, the sound often gets bit too dark and the clean tones are not as good as the overdriven tone.

With EOU you can tailor your cleaner tone with the four pots.

The Evolution Orange Underdrive works by lowering the midrange as that is where the overdrive mostly is.

You can dampen the amplifier input with the EOU's Volume control and then set the Bass and Treble to tailor your clean tone.

EOU can also be used to boost mids by settings the Midrange and Volume up

Fuzz effects pedal with long sustain and variety of tone variations, also features true bypass
Notes: A fuzz pedal that is easy to play with long sustain and a lot of tone variations.

The pedal has a compressed, deep effect to allow equal sustain throughout the fretboard. Tone control was specifically designed to allow tones from mellow fuzz, through slight midcut to thin bright fuzz.

The FRF is not another variation of a classic fuzz design but an unique pedal with its own character and extremely versatile Tone control.

It is great for recording different layers of Fuzz tones from haunting dark to cutting thin bright.

What ever setting you use the tone is always very musical and controllable.

The factory version has a little lower gain on minimum setting so it is easier to use in front of overdrive amp or pedals.

Mad Professor Forest Green Compressor Effects Pedal
Cat: 615028 Rel: 10 Jun 16

Compression & Sustain effects pedal designed for use with electric guitar and bass guitar
Notes: Guitar and bass compressor/sustainer pedal.

Forest Green Compressor (FGC) is designed to meet the highest standards of guitar and bass compression.

There is extremely low noise throughout the range and a high overload margin, which allows also a wide dynamic input range at minimum distortion and noise.

FGC is equipped with a special tone control to fine-tune the compressed sound for most transparent tone and effect.

The pedal has a switchable compressor and sus- tainer mode. in Sustain mode you can get a very dynamic, touch sensitive tone with a long sustain. Here the attack is not lost, making the pedal suit- able even for blues players and works great with slide playing.

Controls:
Level: in Compressor mode adjusts the overal volume and the FGC can be used even as a booster. In Sustain mode the Level no longer adjusts total output but the level of the sustained part.
Compr.: Sets the amount of compression and sustain. lower settings give mostly peak limiting, higher settings more compression and less touch sensitive response. at maximum the output will be heavily compressed, while still retaining clarity at almost infinite sustain. A good starting point for this control is a bit below centre (ten o'clock) with most guitars.
Tone: Tone control on FGC is designed to fine- tune the compressed sound for most transparent tone and effect - adjust CCW for full range compression and set at noon for tighter sound with a little less bottom end and turn fully CW to slightly reduce upper treble.
Compressor/Sustain Switch.: attack and decay times are carefully fine-tuned and internally set for swift attack and slow decay. Sustain/Compression switch set for Sustain the attack is preserved allowing dynamic touch and ease of playing as the FGC amplifi- es the decay and weaker parts.

For standard compression set mode switch to Compressor.

Electrical specifications:
Supply voltage range: 9 to 18VDC
Current consumption at 9VDC: 14mA
Input inpedance: 1M Ohm's
Output impedance: 20K Ohm's
Complete bypass (true bypass)
Max input -10dBV

Mad Professor Little Green Wonder Overdrive Effects Pedal
Cat: 615011 Rel: 10 Jun 16

Low compression, high headroom overdrive effects pedal with high output, also features true bypass circuitry
Notes: BJF design high headroom overdrive with adjustable low/mid EQ balance.

Premium quality classic blues/rock pedal that works very well with complex overdriven amp sound. This pedals is now offered as lower priced pcb-model or hand wired pedal.

Both share the same specs and tone.

It's a low compression, high headroom overdrive with high output, and it has a Body knob for adjusting low-mid content and treble.

The LGW was made to be a stackable overdrive that could go anywhere in the pedal chain and the compression normally associated with this type of circuit is reduced same as several distortion mechanisms.

This pedal will work very well with amps and other pedals that have a lot of complexity or compression, a situation that not all pedals work well.

LGW makes a great building block to sound yet it works standalone and especially with humbuckers where normally this type of circuit would not work satisfactory, much due to bass loss and sometimes separated sounds (where transients feed through and a cloud of distortion follows beneath.

Body control gives access to medium midhump at center position and allows treble boost at cw rotation and low mid/treble boost a ccw position and so unit also can provide distortion albeit a smooth type. LGW can be used as an overdrive to already distorting amplifiers or pedals downstream, as well as function as a filter when feed with fuzz pedals that may be rough on some amplifiers and can also be used as light overdrive for just breaking up sounds.

As designer Bjorn Juhl put it:
"Whereas Little Green Wonder is a TS-style pedal, but one for those who don't generally like TS-style pedals. Big difference between these two pedals would be headroom, distortion style and distortion depth and treble response, output level, function of tone knob, color, symbol.... they do share a common layout of mechanical components."

Mad Professor Loud'n'Proud Overdrive Pedal
Cat: 711097 Rel: 05 Dec 18

Vintage 4-input Marshall overdrive effects pedal
Notes: The vintage 4-input Marshall, just has that classic and rebellious rock tone we have all grown to love. It helped to define the classic hard rock tones of band and artists including AC/DC, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Free, Yngwie Malmsteen, and many more.

Mad Professor Loud'n Proud is a vintage 4-input Marshall in a box. It's a compact pedal with a complete amp signal path replicated inside. Not only the preamp but also the power amp containing phase inverter, push-pull stage, and output transformer simulation. This internal structure makes the pedal not only sound but also behave like a real amp.

And like a vintage Marshall amp, the pedal has a moderate amount of gain. This is what led us to adding a boost/fuzz to this medium gain overdrive circuit. The pre boost has the capability of pushing 13dB, which adds a nice amount of gain to the pedal. It also thickens the midrange a bit so feel free to experiment with the boost also for a different voicing for the overall tone of the pedal. The fuzz is designed to work like a vintage germanium fuzz. By engaging the fuzz you can find a great variety of tones from a clean tone to a thick and warm fuzzy tones just by rolling the guitar volume. The vintage germanium fuzz + Marshall plexi is a classic tone combination that we absolutely wanted to include to the Loud 'n Proud pedal!

You will also find a switch for two different character voicings in the Loud'n Proud pedal: tighter bass and slightly compressed tone on the left with a looser bass including maximum dynamics on the right. If you love the vintage Marshall amp tone, you will also love this pedal. It's the real deal for those who dare!

Best overdrive pedal for: Emulating vintage Plexi and JTM45 Marshall amplifier, AC/DC tone, Jimi Hendrix Tone, Yngwie Malmsteen tone, Paul Kossoff/Free tone, Led Zeppelin tone, Allman Brothers tone, Eric Clapton/Cream tone, Bluesbreakers tone, classic 60's and early 70's guitar tone, fat dynamic fuzz tone, classic rock tone, your tone.

Mad Professor Mellow Yellow Tremolo Effects Pedal
Cat: 615035 Rel: 10 Jun 16

BJF design tremolo effects pedal for producing tones from the of 50's-style soft swing to deep modulation with great playability
Notes: BJF design music tremolo pedal.

Hand-made in Finland premium quality tremolo pedal.

Mad Professor Mellow Yellow Tremolo (MYT) is a true sine wave tremolo effect designed for tremolo tones from the of 50's type soft swing to deep modulation with great playability, regardless of tremolo depth or speed.

Strength of incoming signal is modulated by a sinusoidal oscillator, just like in the early amps, and modulation bias is set to give symmetrical modulation.

This gives a very musical tremolo effect that blend very well with both clean and distorted guitar tones.

The MYT has a level control that allows you to even boost the signal for a more powerful effect.

Like all Mad Professor pedals MYT is hand made in Finland using only premium components, to give years of trouble free operation with superb musical tone.

Controls

Mad Professor Mighty Red Distortion Effects Pedal
Cat: 615015 Rel: 10 Jun 16

High-gain distortion pedal modelled on 80's style compressed gain sounds, with true bypass circuitry
Notes: BJF design high gain distortion pedal.

Hand-made in Finland premium quality distortion pedal.

MRD is a high-gain distortion pedal, which was modelled after the 80's style compressed gain sounds. It is extremely easy (and lot of fun) to play, because its texture is adjusted to give clarity and definition also at heavy distortion. Gain range allows also low distortion sounds as well as stacking with other pedals, where an overdrive (preferably MP LGW) can pre-drive MRD for extreme and highly focused sounds. To get these gain levels with their impressive signal to noise ratio, we didn't use any noise gate or expander. Instead, we used special amplifier techniques and extreme low noise amplifier stages, which result in a natural decay and a rather high current consumption for a distortion pedal in view of battery operation.

MRD has that 80's sound many have longed for but never got before at such low noise levels and versatility. The Presence control was designed to control the upper treble, but not to affect the upper midrange, so that you can get the exact treble you desire. You can master anything from fat warm singing distortion to screaming cutting leads with the MRD's Presence control.

Step into your spandex trousers and plug in the Mighty Red Distortion pedal!

Controls:
Volume: Sets the level of distorted signal
Distortion: Controls the amount of distortion
Presence: Controls upper treble, while not affecting the upper midrange so you can adjust tones from warm and sweet into cutting leads with an attitude.

Electrical specifications:
Supply voltage range: 7,5 to 18VDC
Current consumption at 9VDC: 10,6 mA
Max gain: 62dB
Max output: 1V pk-pk or 500mV rms
Signal/Noise ratio: approximately 96dB
Complete bypass (true bypass)

Mad Professor Royal Blue Overdrive Effects Pedal
Cat: 615019 Rel: 10 Jun 16

Overdrive effects pedals with extremely sensitive dynamics
Notes: THE Royal Blue Overdrive is an extremely touch sensitive overdrive.

It offers wide range of tones from light overdrive into distortion and at lowest Distortion knob setting works as an EQ. It can also be used to create tube amp-like crunchy 'strike hard for distortion' effect. There is not much filtering on the overdrive, to provide transparent tone that you can tailor with both the Treble and Bass controls.

Like the best boutique amps, the Royal Blue OD lets you determine the amount of breakup by how hard you strike the strings with your pick, and/or by adjusting the volume knob on your guitar. The Royal Blue can add this level of expressiveness to any clean or slightly overdriven amplifier.

Controls
Volume: sets the overall output level of the pedal.
Distortion: controls distortion, for most dynamic response set where the amount of distortion is controllable with picking force.
Treble: a boost/cut "shelving" type equalizer that controls the amount of high end, operating where the Presence control is on most amplifiers. Treble can be used to add shimmer to even bright amplifiers without interfering with typical treble boost of most amplifiers.
Bass: a boost/cut shelving type equalizer that controls the low end, just above resonance of a standard 4×12 cabinet. With both Bass and Treble turned up, you can get a scooped heavy tone, turn the knobs down for soft mid-boost tone.

Settings:
For Midboost: set Treble and Bass fully ccw.
For Midcut: set Treble and Bass fully cw

Mad Professor Ruby Red Booster Effects Pedal
Cat: 615014 Rel: 10 Jun 16

A combination effects pedal of two boosters and a switchable buffer, features true bypass circuitry
Notes: A combination of two boosters and a switchable buffer.

The boosters are based on the BJF Little Red Trebler and Red Rooster Booster, connected in that order and with a master volume control. You can use the pedal as a treble booster, a clean boost or an overdrive unit or any combination of the above. Also it can be used with or without the buffer.

The Treble Booster is a fine-tuned booster for just the right treble frequency with carefully designed bandwidth and an optimized slope of bass cut. The booster circuit is designed to overdrive the amplifier inputs from nice shimmer to heavy overdrive, thanks to the massive 40dB of boost. The booster is tuned so that it produces musical distortion by itself on higher boost settings.

You can control the total level of the two boosters with the Master Volume control and also use the Master Volume to achieve distortion from the unit.

Controls:
Master: this is a volume control that is located directly after the booster circuit and when set to max it is just a resistor to ground. This control sets the final output and it can be used to control the output when the pedal is used for overdrive (Boost turned up).
Treble: set treble boost from zero to about 15dB. The treble frequency and bandwidth are carefully tuned with an optimized bass slope.
Boost: the gain of the booster and can be set from unity to about 40dB of boost. When this control is cranked the unit will distort within itself.
Buffer: inside the pedal there is a switch for a high quality buffer. You can set the pedal for true bypass mode or "buffer on" in bypass mode. We recommend using a buffer in your signal chain to help with the treble and gain loss from using many pedals and/or long cables. Pedals are shipped "buffer on".The Mad Professor RRB Buffer is an amplifier with a voltage gain of exactly 1x (times). The RRB buffer output impedance is set a little lower than the Dc resistance of a standard guitar pickup to equalize the effect of following load impedance. Input impedance is set at 500K for a medium load to standard guitar pickups. This keeps the tone and guitar volume taper natural.

Settings:
Treble Boost: Set Boost to minimum and Master to maximum and adjust for desired treble boost with the Treble knob.
Straight Boost:Set Treble to minimum and Master to maximum and adjust Boost to desired effect.
Boost: the gain of the booster and can be set from unity to about 40dB of boost. When this control is cranked the unit will distort within itself.
Distortion: Set Boost to maximum and adjust output level with Master to unity, then adjust Boost for desired depth and overdrive. Treble can be used to enhance distortion effect.

Caution!
Never operate the unit with its bottom removed or damage will most likely occur.

Electrical specifications:
Input impedance: approximately 500K Ohm's
Recommended output load: 50K Ohm's or higher, effects output and buffer output
Current consumption @ 9V DC: approximately 6mA
DC supply voltage range: 8-18V
Voltage gain: approximately +40dB
Treble boost: peak +15dB@4KHz
Signal to noise ratio: 110 dB
Effect 3dB bandwidth: 70Hz to 7KHz
True bypass or buffered (switchable inside the pedal)

Power Requirements:
6F22 9V battery or DC eliminator 2.1 mm plug center negative and positive sleeve.

Notes:
RRB is protected against wrong DC eliminator polarity. Fuzzy sound is a sign of low voltage. Maintain recommended voltage for best results.

Mad Professor Silver Spring Reverb Effects Pedal
Cat: 615032 Rel: 10 Jun 16

A compact, easy to use digital/analog reverb with a pure analog direct signal path
Notes: Big reverb in a small box!

Silver Spring Reverb (SSR) is a compact, easy to use digital/analog reverb with a pure analog direct signal path. It creates a natural sounding ambient reverb that will not get in the way of your original signal.

The Silver Spring Reverb's bandwidth is in between the dark warmth of an amplifier's spring reverb and the pristine clarity of a studio reverb.

There is no noise reduction system, in order to keep the decay as natural as possible.

The direct signal path is all analog, going straight through analog amplifiers with no filtering.

With the input set below the maximum there is no signal distortion or coloration

The Reverb signal path is filtered to produce the Silver Spring Reverb's natural ambience.

The SSR's sound is exceptional with a clean signal, but was specifically designed to work equally well with the tougher performance requirements of distorted tone. The SSR can be used before distortion, although it was primarily designed to go after. If you use the SSR before distortion, you may want to use a lower Reverb (Wet/Dry) setting.

Built the Mad Professor way: small footprint and big tone.

Controls
Time: This sets the decay time of reverb. Turn it clockwise for longer decay.
At full counterclockwise position the decay is that of a small room. At full clockwise position the decay resembles the large hall sound of a plate reverb. Around the center setting the medium decay time is optimal for rhythmic chords and single notes.
Tone: This adjusts the bandwidth of the reverb signal. Turning clockwise results in a brighter reverb tone and counter- clockwise darker one. Fully counter- clockwise approximates the response of a typical spring reverb, clockwise a studio reverb.
Reverb: This adds reverb to dry signal. Reverb can be turned fully off if Reverb knob is turned fully CCW, and is loudest at fully clockwise.

Electrical specifications
Current consumption: 80mA@9V (DC adapter recommended)
Voltage range: 6-9 V, 9 V 100mA preferred
Input impedance: 500K
Output drive capability: 10K Ohms
Signal noise ratio: 90dB

Mad Professor Simble Predriver Effects Pedal
Cat: 615042 Rel: 10 Jun 16

Preamp, booster, compressor and upper harmonic enhancer pedal
Notes: Simble Predriver is not just a preamp, it is a preamp/booster/compressor/upper harmonic enhancer.

This musical tonal combination is totally adjustable with your picking attack and guitar volume pot.

The amount of boost depends on the input signal level and HOT/COOL switch position. Maximum is about +10dB on lower level notes and average is about +6dB.

Simble Predriver's special circuitry uses low noise transistor with high input impedance (over 2 Mohm) so you can boost even piezo pickups without tone loss.

The output impedance is 50 Kohm so it works even in front of fuzz pedals.

The power consumption is very small, if you remove the input jack when not playing you can use the pedal with a 9V battery for few years!

Mad Professor Sky Blue Overdrive Pedal
Cat: 656382 Rel: 19 Jul 17

BJF design fine-tuned overdrive effects pedal
Notes: Mad Professor Sky Blue Overdrive (SBOD) is a very unique four knob pedal designed to overdrive already distorted amplifiers as well as provide light overdrive or soft distortion on clean sounds. The special feature on this pedal is that you can adjust the feel and dynamics with Texture and Z knobs.

The Texture allows changing how and when circuit distorts as well as adjusting overall EQ.

The Z is a control that creates an adjustable load to the instrument connected to the SBOD input. With standard passive pickup loaded guitars dialling this control will adjust the upper resonant peak of the pickups. It also affects the taper of the volume control on the guitar, adjusting how the tone cleans up when using the guitar volume knob.

Like all Mad Professor pedals SBOD is hand made in Finland using only premium components, to give years of trouble free operation with superb musical tone.

Controls:

VOLUME - Sets the output volume of the effect.

DISTORT - Controls the distortion or overdrive effect.

Z - This control creates an adjustable load to the instrument connected to the SBOD input. With standard guitars dialling this control will adjust the upper resonant peak of the pickups and affect the taper of the volume control on the guitar for easy setting of clean to distorted just from the volume control of guitar. This effect is masked if SBOD is driven by a buffered output such as from another guitar pedal or from active pickups.

TEXTURE - Allows changing how and when the circuit distorts as well as adjusting overall EQ. Dialling this control appears to adjust midrange, while it gives this impression from adjusting compression. Turning CCW gives more saturated effect that is easily distorted, turning CW gives a slight treble boost and less compression (compression is used here to describe density of distortion since overall sound may be distorted throughout the dial).

Mad Professor Snow White Auto Wah Effects Pedal
Cat: 615030 Rel: 10 Jun 16

Autowah effects pedal Based on a 1991 BJF rack mount remote wah circuit
Notes: BJF design guitar and bass Auto Wah/Voltage Control Filter pedal

Hand-made in Finland premium quality auto wah pedal.

The Snow White Autowah (SWAW) circuit is based on a 1991 BJF rack mount remote wah circuit and is tuned like a real wah.

The circuit was redesigned with envelope controls and built into small size pedal.

It has very fast tracking and accuracy rarely found on auto wahs/ envelope filters. With the four knobs you can have total control of the effect.

SWAW works both with guitar and bass and you can fine-tune the pedal to suit your instru-ment, your playing style and your taste of tone.

The pedal has a unique decay control for the filter frequency fall speed. You can set it to be fast for wah effects on every note, or slower for a more traditional auto wah sound.

Like all Mad Professor pedals SWAW is hand made in Finland using only premium compo-nents, to give years of trouble free operation with superb musical tone.

Controls:
Sensitivity: Sets the filter trigger level, tune this carefully to fit your guitar/bass output and your playing touch. You can further change the sensitivity from your guitar volume knob while playing.
Bias: Controls the filter resonance frequency. When Sensitivity is turned fully off the Bias can be used as a sweepable filter.
Resonance: Controls the sharpness or Q-factor of the filter.
Decay: Controls how fast the filter frequency falls back to resting point (that is set with the Bias control). This can be set fast (CW) so you get the wah effect on every note or slow for a more traditional auto wah sound.
Playing: Please take time to get used to the controls and as this is a voltage control filter it will react to your playing touch. The envelope control circuit is carefully designed to follow the dynamics of guitar/bass and it might take some time to master the Auto Wah playing technics. Try also adjusting guitar volume between 8 and 10 to further expand use.

Mad Professor Super Black Preamp & Overdrive Pedal
Cat: 757955 Rel: 17 Dec 19

Vintage Blackface Fender amp in a box with a boost
Notes: Fender Blackface amps (1963-1968) are widely considered as the most recorded amps in the history of music. And for a good reason.

Mad Professor Super Black has the Fender Blackface tone in the box! The whole amp signal path is replicated inside. You can turn your amplifier easily into 60's Fender glory! Don't be afraid to plug the Super Black pedal also straight into the return jack of your amp ?s FX loop. This way you can bypass the preamp of your amp and get the sound of a full Blackface amp signal path without the colour of your amps preamp.

Super Black amp-in-a-box pedal will deliver the punchy, mid scooped and sparkling chimey clean tone that Fender Blackface amplifiers are known and famous for. And this might be the most sought after Fender sound!

Super Black will also deliver the most beautiful and amp-like break up tone you could imagine. Gain and Volume controls are making sure you will achieve the sweet spot and nail this iconic tone at any volume, still retaining full clarity. So Super Black makes it easy to get the ultimate break up tone also with your big high headroom amp or with a big Fender amp too that is too loud when you crank it up till 6 where it is finally giving the goods.

Fender Blackface amps, when pushed nearly all the way, are producing fantastic classic overdriven tones as well. At this point even the smallest models are fairly loud though. Enter the Mad Professor Super Black and you have a rocking machine at your feet at any volume.

Also, we at Mad Professor Amplification, noticed some variation on amounts of both low end and compression depending on the model when we took both big and small Blackface amps into a close look. Therefore we added two mini switches, one for the bass and one for the compression. You get to tailor these characteristics, whether you want more or less, by adjusting these two switches.

And there is more! We added our all time best seller overdrive pedal, Sweet Honey Overdrive, to boost the front end of the Super Black. Sweet Honey Overdrive pedal into a Blackface amp is a magic combination! Now you have even more possibilities when you are fine tuning your overdriven tones with the rest of your gear. Having its own on/off switch plus Volume and Drive controls you can use the Sweet Honey circuit separately too.

The combination of all above is meaning that the Mad Professor Super Black is a jack of all trades pedal in a best possible way. Plugging in the Super Black is like striking gold in a studio or live stage when tone seeking!

Mad Professor Supreme Tone & Functionality Pedal
Cat: 774582 Rel: 06 May 20

tone & functionality pedal
Notes: The pedal is called Supreme because it simply excels in both tone and functionality. Supreme was born in collaboration with the world famous tone connoisseur Matt Schofield. Two pedals in one, switching from one side to the other with just a single press on the switch.

The tones were set for a great all around boost to low gain drive on the A side used mostly on a neck pickup. The A side is heavily based on our famous Royal Blue Overdrive pedal. And for the B side a fat dynamic tone containing some "power amp" response with a lot of headroom. The B side is a completely new design and is used mostly on a bridge pickup.

No matter which kind of guitar is your preference, you can fine tune the other side for the neck pickup and the other for bridge and have optimized tones for your pickups by a single press on the switch. Both sides have very versatile EQ sections containing both treble and bass controls for the best results.

Another use of the Supreme would be for example playing into a single channel amp using the other side for a rhythm tone and other side for leads with more volume as well. You have two different gain and volume levels reachable by a single press on the switch going from side A to side B. In another words, you have the ability to easily bypass or switch between two channels with full individual EQ/gain/volume without using a complex programmable switcher!

The fun doesn't even end here as you can also set both of the drives into independent mode and stack them. Stacking the drives will lead you into another huge variety of tones Supreme will deliver. Supreme in stacking mode works best in case you're in need for more gain and compression.

You choose what is the best use of Supreme, the ultimate guitar overdrive pedal.

Mad Professor Twimble Simble Overdrive & Predrive Pedal
Cat: 638225 Rel: 03 May 17

Simble Overdrive & Simble Predriver in one stompbox
Notes: The Twimble is a combination of the Simble Overdrive and the Simble Predrive. Both of the drives have been tailored slightly in order to achieve an even more organic tonal result. As you turn the contour fully clockwise, you will notice the overdrive section now features enhanced clarity with a sparkling top end. The Predrive section has additional sweet compression. This results in a pedal with a more 3-dimentional tonal feel and it is even more easy to slide between clean and overdriven guitar tones, which can easily be controlled by your guitar volume. In addition, you will notice more warm sustain to ease playing.

Naturally, both drives sound excellent on their own, on both single-coils and humbuckers. And when activated together they really make you flow.

The Mad Professor Twimble pedal allows you to be the foundation of the tone. With the Twimble pedal, your picking attack, your guitar and the pickups you have chosen will retain their character, keeping your valuable original sonic footprint intact.

Controls:

SENSITIVITY: Amount of distortion and compression.
LEVEL: Output level.
ACCENT: Pick attack and brightness.
CONTOUR: Brightness of the output. (Darker when you adjust CCW)
