  2. MINIMALAFRIKA - "Drakma Queen"
  3. Robotalco - "No More Disco"
  4. Klubbhuset - "SS0817"
Review: Time for Colours, a new series with a playful sound and the world as inspiration. On Yellow EP, Lyssna invites the Italian producer Riciar Ghir to contribute on A1 with dreamy Cargo bubbles and tribal drums. A2 showcases the Italian duo, MINIMALAFRIKA. With several great releases on their resume, Drakma Queen takes you on a deep Sci-Fi house ride. On the flip side B1 yet another excellent Italian producer ROBOTALCO comes along. Involved in GetWet Records and one half of the Fake Congas duo. No More Disco takes you back to the old school 4/4 sound with playful and funky tunes. Last but not least is B2 with the young talented Stockholm duo Klubbhuset that released their debut album on the great NYC label Let's Play House. SS0817 is a classic house track with warm disco samples and hypnotic swirles that makes you wanna move your hips.

Shakshuka EP (140 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: LYR 001. Rel: 06 Jun 16
Minimal/Tech House
  1. Shakshuka
  2. Det Eviga Mysteriet
  3. Foul
  4. Shakshuka (Mr Tophat BLU remix)
Review: Lyssna Records is a newly formed label out of Stockholm overseen by Adam Stromstedt, Flord King and Mohammed Al Harbiti. Two of the founding members, Adam and Flord, join forces to create a deep, jazzy and delicately put together debut. A1 'Shakshuka' is a track driven by jazzy percussion and soothing chords on top and a slightly off kilter bass groove. A2 'Det Eviga Mysteriet' straight away hits you with a more hip hop and soul inspired touch with well thought out vocal samples on top of a bouncy beat. Flip side starts off with 'Foul' a slow pulsating track that is perfect for those late night shifts on the dance floor. Finishing off the EP we have Mr. Tophat's rendition of Shakshuka, weird and delightful at the same time, just like a Mr. Tophat remix should be, BLU.

Various Artist (140 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: ZNA 001. Rel: 27 Feb 17
Minimal/Tech House
  1. Levi Verspeek - "256" (10:06)
  2. Peshka - "Miracle" (5:56)
  3. Flord King - "Steff Off" (9:02)
  4. Adam Stromstedt - "HM 2016" (5:05)
Review: Mohammed Al Harbiti, Adam Stromstedt and Flord King's Lyssna Records is now on its third release, and the label is beginning to pick up jus the right sort of momentum to make a impact on the vast, bottomless pit that is the deep house scene. What you need to be able to do that is plenty of style and a fresh way of constructing 4/4 patterns, something which Levi Verspeek has clearly nailed on the opening "256". Peshka's "Miracle" is also refreshingly off-kilter, meandering its loose drums over a hazy bed of washed-up sonics, while Flord King's "Steff Off" uses the minimal formula to deliver its mesmerising glow, and Adam Stromstedt's "HM 2016" is probably the best example of traditional deep house that we've heard since the close of that treacherous 2016. Quality house escapades...
