Here (12")
Cat: LOB 013. Rel: 12 Nov 15
Bass
  1. Here (5:11)
  2. Trellick (5:03)
Review: Usually spotted on Digital Soundboy, Mella Dee jumps over to Redlight's Lobster Boy imprint for two gutter-munching slices of breakbeat. Entrenched in the original hardcore foundations, "Here" whittles the same stick that Special Request has whittled so sharply over the last few years. Timeless badness, it's an instant unifier. "Trellick" has more of a garage feel with its splice, diced vocals.. Then it drops into the gulliest slo-mo jungle drop you'll hear all year. Powerful.

Do 4 Me (12")
Cat: LOB 011. Rel: 28 May 15
Bass
  1. Do 4 Me (4:24)
  2. Blue Suede (4:41)
Review: M&P continue to deliver sterling bass dynamite - both on their own label Materials and Redlight's Lobster Boy imprint. This is no exception; with sinewy beats and soulful vocals, it comes on strong like a Deetron cut while its bulbous, ominous subs give it a late '90s Layo & Bushwacka veneer. "Blue Suede" is more tech-minded in its make-up thanks to rolling hi-hats, snares and clipped vocal shots. One for the hands up crew, one for the heads down crew - M&P have delivered something for every occasion right here.

Queens Day (12")
Cat: LOB 018. Rel: 26 May 16
Bass
  1. Queens Day (5:57)
  2. Body Thing (6:24)
Review: Quadrants main man and Merseyside's finest Mele is back with Queens Day: no doubt a tribute to Amsterdam's best party of the year and what a fitting soundtrack it is. A Latin-esque Carnival flavoured track that crosses over with bass music splendidly. Those whistles and steel drums are pretty sick, but just wait for that drop! Second track "Body Thing" continues on with the Latin festive vibes; those steel drums go even more ballistic with even more funk, this track could easily mix well with some summery big room tech house for monstrous effect.

Cat: LOB 010. Rel: 05 Mar 15
Bass
  1. Brooklyn Underground (4:07)
  2. Dinner & Corsica (6:22)
Review: Mensah returns to Lobster Boy with more heavyweight jams under the New York Transit Authority name. Up top "Brooklyn Underground" veers into classic electro territory as crisp 808 programming meets metallic bass tones reminiscent of Radioactiveman at his most futuristic and alien. The superbly titled "Dinner & Corsica" heads down a much darker path as Mensah shows his skills at punchy acid house with a bassline that does all the talking and the kick/snare struts that do all the listening. Dark room, dubby and seriously dangerous stuff from Lobster Boy!
