Why (feat Veronique) (4:14)
Late (feat Lexx) (4:31)
Next (4:27)
Done (5:19)
Review: Light Of Other Days is a Zurich based label run by Marc Hofweber and Georg Munz and for this release they tap mysterious trio Ethimm for this rather beautiful EP. Starting out with a cover of Rhythm & Sound's "Why" featuring Veronique's gorgeous vocals, this is a lovely electro-modern classical crossover journey. They then team up with fellow Swiss purveyor of the deep Lexx on the smooth late night groove of "Late". On the flip, "Next" and "Done" go for some rather reflective and dubbed out downbeat vibes which will appeal to fans of Blackest Ever Black acts Dalhous or Raime. Curious stuff indeed!

Der Spaziergang (4:40)
Review: Zurich's Light Of Other Days is surprisingly slept on as a label. Granted, they have only released three EPs thus far but they have managed to instil a certain type of sound within their catalogue and, most importantly, by different artists who seem to share the same vision of electronic (dance) music. They welcome Gray Chalk to the crew this week, an up and coming house/techno deviant who has delivered five beautiful track here, all loose enough to remain broadly genreless, but perfectly in tune with the sounds of the label. What we have here are five dreamy segments of dance music, full of deep chords and pads, taking inspiration from the Warp or Irdial school of thought; the pensive sort of techno for those who need more than just kicks, hi-hats and a few bleeps. Tip!

Review: In the summer of 2016, HOVE went to France for two weeks to start writing and recording his new EP Portes du Soleil. Together with his girlfriend, they spent two weeks at Le Pascalet, a house in the woods of the Cevennes, right outside the small village of St. Etienne Vallee Francaise. Equipped with a sampler, drum machine, some synths, effect pedals and a mic for field recordings, he built the foundation of the four songs that would later become the EP. All the songs started out as live-jams but the goal was to create different moods and patterns inspired by the surroundings of the forest, long walks, playing petanque and plenty of Pastis. The tracks were later finalized back home at HOVE's studio in Zurich.

Review: Light of Other Days is a Zurich based record label. After great releases previously by Miajica, label boss HOVE and ETHIMM, they now present this lush EP by label co-founder Le Frere. Slow Glass is not only the debut release by him, it is also a very personal diary of the last two years of his life. All four tracks are based on recordings, samples and ideas he collected while travelling the world. With this concept in mind, he tried to catch moments of his life without stripping them of their dynamic and evanescence. Retro tinted ambient journey's for fans of labels like Antinote, rich in celestial FM synthesis and saturated VHS quality offered up here for the most part, with the exception of the lively slow burning groove of "Nttt8" which closes out the EP in style.
