Funky/Club House
  1. U Don't Know Me
  2. U Don't Know Me (Justin Cudmore vocal dub)
  3. My Knife
  4. God Chord
Review: HOMAGE goes from "out here" to "really out here" with their sixth release from Mr. Sunshine, a brand new duo from London artists Danvers and Luke Campion. Just like sunshine, this combo pack of techy rollers and UK bass really lights up the dance floor. Starting strong with "U Don't Know Me," Mr. Sunshine aim straight for the dome with a heaving house bomb that might blow up your summer. A cut deeper than the rest, "My Knife" is a slice of UK bass with speaker rattling capability for peaking crowds. Rounding out the project is "God Chord" a breaks influenced bass track equipped with cheeky vocals and a stuttering acid line. Bringing everything full circle is NYC treasure and rising star, Justin Cudmore, who's flipped the standout "U Don't Know Me" into an equally massive club weapon. Folks get down in the sunshine!

Deep House
  1. Brawn (Cinthie Jack Be Nimble mix)
  2. Brawn (Cinthie Jack Be Quick mix)
  3. Rudy's Disc 31 (Black Loops remix)
  4. State Of Nature (K2k remix)
Review: London producer JVXTA made quite a splash with the Rudy's Disc 31 12" last year, fitting right in on the emergent Homage label out of New York. Now the label have done the right thing and commissioned a raft of remixes to present some fresh angles on those righteous house heaters. Cinthie comes correct with two loud and proud takes on "Brawn" that keep the powerful vocals front and centre while dropping two very different kinds of peak time house fireworks to propel them. Black Loops gets busy with "Rudy's Disc 31," twisting it up into a wriggling, bugging groove that celebrates the funky roots of the track while keeping it bumping in all the right places. K2k takes things deeper on their version of "State Of Nature," weaving an emotive, dubby tapestry of synths around the original vocal.

Deep House
  1. Brawn (7:24)
  2. Rudy's Disc 31 (8:18)
  3. When We Kiss (6:13)
  4. State Of Nature (7:13)
Review: Newcomer JVXTA has been spotted previously on his own label Hardmatter, but you wouldn't think it's early days for the UK producer listening to the assured NY house flex of his guaranteed dancefloor bomb "Brawn." It also stand to reason that promising new Big Apple house label Homage have reached out across the Atlantic to make a fruitful connection, resulting in a crucial grip of contemporary house jams with classic touches in all the right places. As well as the garage swing of "Brawn" there's uptempo strutting aplenty to be had with "Rudy's Disc 31," while "When We Kiss" takes things in a sweeter, deeper direction. "State Of Nature" throws down tribal percussion and woozy synths for a heady track that contrasts neatly with the other more upfront offerings.
