  2. Belebtschlamm
  3. Schlick
  4. Dichtschlamm (Hold Youth aka Seuil & Le Loup remix)
Review: Now might seem an odd time for Alixander III to drop some solo material with his band Azari & III on a seemingly unstoppable upwards curve which has most recently seen them sign to a major label. However the quality of music shown on his debut for the ever excellent French imprint Get The Curse shows it was definitely the right decision. Proceedings here veer far from the infectious update on early 90s house that permeates Azari & III material, revealing an illuminating penchant for heaving, industrially charged and bleep infused techno. Opening track "Dichtschlamm" gets deliciously more chaotic as it progresses, layer upon layer of sound colliding rhythmically as a throbbing bassline comes to the fore. Alongside it "Belebtschlamm" operates at gutter level and is rhythmically dominated by a similarly dizzying array of off kilter tones and percussive touches. On the flip "Schlick" is flushed with the paranoia inducing sensation of a thousand sonic insects crawling inside your cranium, whilst Hold Youth are enlisted to straighten out and sleaze up "Dichtschlamm".

Those new kids on the block didn't beat around the bush, [GTCM004] is a warning shot to all in clubland :
DARABI is a force to be reckoned with.

  1. Break O Dawn
  2. Our Secret Codes
  3. Break O Dawn (Madteo Meglio Subito Che Mai mix)
  4. Break O Dawn (Madteo A Cracker Dawn Fascion house mix)
Review: Tomas More makes a splendid debut on Parisian label Get The Curse with the Break O' Dawn 12" which comes packing a pair of remixes from the man, the myth, the maverick Madteo. This record is More's full debut for Clement Meyer's label, having previously collaborated with Clem on a remix of Sishi Rosh and follows respected outings on for Correspondent, Kill The DJ and Items & Things. The disjointed arrangement of "Break O Dawn" were seemingly made to be remixed by Madteo, and the Queens-based dollar bin digger has actually provided two distinctly different self styled interpretations; the "A Cracker Dawn Fascion House Mix" stands out, showcasing the producer's penchant for crackly ambience and croaky monologues. More also supplies his own beatless piece of scored sound design with "Our Secret Codes".

  3. Romantic Robotic (Xenogears aka The Analogue Cops remix)
Review: Following on from his ventures into band dynamics with The Eyes In The Heat, Oliver Ho is back with a renewed vigour as Raudive, evident in the loose-limbed funk of "Obsession". Coming on like a potent cocktail of post punk and industrial with modern production values, the track sits stark in your ears, filling them with crisp slap bass, subtle electro bass stabs, bonkers sampling and raw drums. "Romantic Robot" is more of a proto house cut, but heightened by haunting strings and an unforgiving tension, lending it an almost cinematic quality. The Analogue Cops get into Xenogears mode for an abrasive remix indebted to Neil Landstrumm's mastery of wonky noise within hard as nails techno.
