Everything Works Backwards (6:39)
But My Mind (5:38)
Review: Having delivered a stand out pair of EPs to Untilmyheartstops last year and moonlighted on Greta Cottage Workshop, Freerotation alumni Duckett lands on the ever adventurous Galdoors with a spellbinding collection of compositions that seek to send delicate synthesiser sequences into romantic, cosmic pastures. "No Relation To Me" shimmers with intricate layers of melody while "My Other Life On Earth Begins This Morning" works around off-kilter rhythmic configurations to create a hypnotic workout. The subtlety carries through to the B-side, where "Everything Works Backwards" pulls at the heartstrings before "But My Mind" settles into a woozy, uneasy funk.

Sun
Review: The fledgling Galdoors label launched last year, but has already become a low key outlet for quality deep house and techno thanks to releases from Audio Werner and Junes, both of which contained tracks that the more refined selectors out there regularly pull for. This third release will probably ensure a few more people take notice of Galdoors, with Hessle Audio affiliate Elgato resurfacing with one of his trademark irregular 12" transmissions. On the A side cut "Links", chords, strings and vocal edits roll out over a typically rough low end, while "Sun" is a hypnotic, evolving groove taking you deep and down, delivered in his unique minimalist style.

Shift State
Precipice
Review: Junes delivers another trio of distinctive, whacked-out shufflers to Galdoors. First up it's Trails, stomping through glimmering, trippy textures with an emphatic groove. Shift State brings dubby delays and heavyweight bells that bounce back and forth over another potent rhythm to heady effect. Precipice makes use of a more menacing combo: clipped congas and swinging highs gang up with a bullish sub bass, before the icy pads grab hold - not for kids.

Untitled
Review: On the back of an acclaimed LP on his own UMHS label, Freerotation resident Leif takes his woozy grooves and lush atmospherics for a trackier spin on Galdoors. "Macro Beat's" broken latin groove propels the A1 through layers of bubbling dub synths and twinkling atmospherics. "Moment Beat" shares the first track's club focus, but this time chimes unfurl over a low-slung groove that leaves things perfectly poised for a change in direction. On the B, "Tumbler"picks up the pace once more with highs and arpeggios that pulse and slide around each other restlessly, before "Untitled" wraps up with a beatless and beautiful flourish.

Squeeze
Review: A third release earlier this year featuring productions from Hessle Audio producer Elgato brought the fledgling UK label Galdoors to wider attention, yet this fourth release suggests the label will continue to champion the lesser known talents. As far as we can tell, Vivid Elements is the debut release from Tames and it's a fine addition to the Galdoors canon with a title track that really lives up to it's name. Driven by loose percussion and a weighty bass line, "Vivid Elements" positively glowers with warmth and is made memorable for the cascading delay effects that run throughout. "Episodes" operates in a similar manner, whilst "Squeeze" could feasibly come from Maurice Fulton's Syclops project.
