  1. Free Soul (edit)
  2. Up Above The Rock (edit)
Review: Galaxy Sound CO crew back at it!!
New Year Winter release for 2019.

Free Soul 1969 The groove is heavy too N and a popular hip hop sample N but really itis all about Klemmeris blisteringly intense, stream of consciousness freak-out.

Been sampled over 16x from INI to Ed O G & Da Bulldogs to Kurious, Akinyele, Dred Scott to name a few. Klemmer just wyles out on the sax keep that Psychedelic funk moving!!

Up Above the Rock Edit
You wonit find too many jazz songs that start with a drum break, but then this is probably one of the better jazz/soul hybrids Iive heard in some time. Produced by Richard Evans this song is a perfect display of acoustic jazz funk with Ron Carter & Grady Tate filling out the Rhythm section.
Dance Floor classic!!!

  1. Searching For Soul (edit) (2:40)
  2. Show-stopper (edit) (3:54)
Review: Galaxy Sound Co hit hard with two more edits. Both taking from triple figure sources; on the A we go back to 1968 for a chunky big funk fix on Jake Wade & The Soul Searcher's only known single "Searching For Soul" (which was famously sampled by Beyonce on "Suga Mama"). Bangini drums, horns, and a sweet bass line, the guys knew how to lay it down. Flip to the B we're blessed with the sweltering garage rock melter "Show-stopper". Powerful and sleazy; this packs a punch now more than ever, and just goes to show how much music was under the radar at that time.

  1. Here's To You (part 1 - Kadena Multi track version) (4:25)
  2. Here's To You (part 2 - Kadena Multi track version) (4:40)
Review: Galaxy Sound return to the classics with this prime slice of 1980 disco funk from NYC troupe Skyy. The lead track on their second Salsoul album Skyyport, everything about "Here's To You" glistens and struts; the slinky keys, the lolloping, walloping walking basslines and the sweet-shuffled double-clapping drum arrangement. Both parts re-purposed, remastered and rebuilt by Kadena, all the original elements are brought to life without losing any of their original funk elements.
