The Polychronic EP
Cat: FTC 04. Rel: 05 Apr 22
Deep House
  1. The Polychronic (7:38)
  2. Str8 Rollin (5:59)
  3. Ghost Dog (6:28)
Review: Leading Detroit house practitioner Kyle Hall's Forget The Clock label might be home to some of his best work. This fourth EP is gorgeously jazzy deep house offering. The drums swing seductively, the chords are draped over the whole track to bring warmth and soul and the leads ring out with real meaning. All that is certainly yer case not he majestic a-side 'The Polychronic,' while 'Str8 Rollin' picks up the pace a little while remaining deeply touching. Last of all comes the late night soul and groovy bump n grid of 'Ghost Dog,' another perfectly warm and lived in tune with that analogue texture we all love.

Good Hado EP
Cat: FTC 06. Rel: 15 Aug 22
Deep House
  1. Movable
  2. In Ya Mind
  3. Turquise Wave
  4. Weed Or Majik
Review: Kyle Hall's outings on the label he founded in 2019, Forget the Clock, always see the Detroit master bringing something new to the table, although usually within the parameters of abundant musicality and good vibes. The four tracks here will delight house and techno heads alike, with the latter probably gravitating to the grittier off killer shuffle of 'Weed or Majik', while the A-side boasts the smoother, more soulful 'Moveable', the kind of slower house gear that Weatherall championed at his 'Love From Outer Space' night. A calming vocal sample and tooting saxes join the string-swaddled, crunchily floorfilling groove of 'In Ya Mind; meanwhile, and 'Turquoise Wave' clocks in as stripped down and serene. Gorgeous stuff all round.
