Review: Bohm is no stranger to the scene, having made quite a splash with his latest releases on Dolly, PARTOUT, M>O>S and Undersound Recordings. His newest outing on Eudemonia acts as an ideal successor, as he delivers a versatile EP with both dreamy and old-school-ravey moments, sating all proclivities towards ecstasy and cascading soundbaths, from the 'King Cobra' arpeggiated judders of 'King Cobra' to the hazy situational-awareness-muddying closer 'The Fog'.

Muoti 1986 (6:52)
Review: Germany's Eudemonia label is building up a fine head of steam with its mix of cold wave, synth and techno offerings. This latest is a slithering and spaced out electro excursion on nice clean lines, shiny digital synth sounds and sleek rhythms from Konerytmi. It comes after a slew of good 12"s on labels like Infiltrate and Russia's Electro Music Coalition and 'Ikuisesti Nuori' is an early highlight with melancholic chords being a pensive mood over Kraftwerkian drums. 'Uimaranta' layers up the melodies with pumping arps and 'Aikakone' resets the mood with a more downbeat vibe that is lush and cinematic.

Endless Quest (6:40)
Trespassing (5:24)
Damn Frogs (5:58)
Benefit Of The Doubt (5:41)
Review: Buoyed by the success of two tasty 12" singles on Casa Voyager, Moroccan electro explorer Youssef "Kosh" Benjelloun brings his brand of robo-funk to Eudemonia for the very first time. The EP itself is pleasingly varied, with the Casablanca-based rising star effortlessly flitting between far-sighted futurist techno warmth (the mid-'90s peak-time bliss of "Endless Quest"), deep and glacial electro bliss (the psychedelic electronics, ambient style melodies and bustling drums of "Trespassing"), warm and dreamy club electro (the yearning, dewy-eyed brilliance of "Damn Frogs") and the kind of crunchy, breakbeat-driven ambient techno that's currently undergoing something of a renaissance (seductive closing cut "Benefit Of The Doubt").

Glider (4:13)
The Minister (3:43)
Plateau Rosa (6:02)
Theme Of Perception (3:33)
Review: Eudemonia was founded in 2017 with the goal to release versatile electronic music and to create a platform for visual art. Inaugurated by a terrific release by electro veteran Emile Facey aka Plant43, they now have an Irish purveyor of the deep taking up the reins on their second release: the Theme Of Perception EP by Leopoldo Rosa. He has definitely branched out in recent years, with surprising releases for labels diverse as Idle Hands, Slow Motion and locals Lunar Disko - where he dabbled in similar visions of electro as heard on the fierce electro funk of "Glider" - but these expressions are much more evocative and bittersweet. From the vintage electronics reminiscent of Kraftwerk on the dreamscape of "The Minister" to the deeply emotive "Plateau Rosa" - the guy's on point as always.

True Dayz For Confessing In Luv (4:34)
Aced Theory Of All (5:29)
Electrocity (5:22)
Signals (4:29)
Found You (4:52)
Review: Music and intentions come together for a good cause. Southern Germany's Eudemonia was made with the intention of giving something back to society and supporting musical projects in conflict areas. For their fifth edition they've invited Russian producer Gennadiy Manzhos aka Low Tape, who's rocked up on labels such as X-Kalay, Furthur Electronix and Mechatronica in recent times. On "True Dayz For Confessing In Luv", feel the neon-lit vibes of the title track, booming electro-bass party starter "Aced Theory Of All" featuring some good ol' Sheffield-inspired bleep (and gnarly acid), and the Motor City melancholia of closer "Found You" which calls to mind legends like The Abstract Eye or Detroit Escalator Company. As if the above wasn't already good enough, all profits from this release will be donated to Musicians Without Borders. Get in!

Escape From Road Valley

Techno
Escape From Road Valley (9:25)
Euphoretic Energy (8:08)
Life After Acid (7:23)
She Is Sleeping (6:19)
Review: Low Tape is Gennadiy Mazhos, and you might well have caught him rolling out refined machine soul on labels like Echovolt, Zyntax Motorcity and Furthur Electronix. Here he is returning to Eudemonia, also home to PRZ and Plant43, with a classy four-tracker which expands on his established remit in classically-informed deep techno. 'Escape From Road Valley' is a lush but punchy strain of electro-tech, while 'Euphoretic Energy' brims with bubbling acid lines and dreamy pads. 'Life After Acid' is a sprightly slice of club gear with the finest slithers of breakbeat sprinkled in the mix and 'She Is Sleeping' rounds things off with a mellow trip through bleepy synth lines and pattering drum machines.

Edge Of The Wood EP
Cat: EUDEMONIA 001. Rel: 21 Mar 18

Electro
Porcupine Meadow (7:36)
Edge Of The Wood (5:58)
The Toll Gate (11:20)
Review: Electro veteran Plant43 (AKA British producer Emile Facey) has previously released on some particularly notable labels, including Frustrated Funk, Shipwrec and Central Processing Unit. Here, he helps launch new label Eudemonia, an imprint that promises to give a proportion of record sales to the Musicians Without Borders charity. Happily, Facey hits the spot from the word go, where the dreamy and otherworldly "Porcupine Meadow" offers a near perfect blend of deep space chords, life-affirming electronics, cascading, ice-bright synthesizer melodies and bustling electro beats. "Edge of the Wood", a deeper and more Drexciya-influenced chunk of melancholic electro, is equally as impressive, while closer "The Toll Gate" - a beatless but fast-paced fusion of swirling synthesizer arpeggio lines and bass pulses - is as blissful as it is arresting and ear-catching.

Floating Away (5:53)
Analog Soul (5:40)
ADSR606 (5:51)
ADSR606 (Shawescape Renegade remix) (5:51)
Review: Resplendent in sleeve boasting a superb - and rather fitting - illustration, Analogue Soul marks long-serving Maltese musician Sound Synthesis's first outing for the on-point Eudemonia imprint. In keeping with the producer's recent release, all three original tracks showcased on the EP are melodious, deep and quietly funk-fuelled, delivering a take on electro that emphasizes the style's star-gazing ethos and Kraftwerkian roots. Our pick of a very strong bunch is the delightful title track, where lilting electronic lead lines, starry chords and blissful counter melodies dance away atop crunchy machine beats and an electrofunk style bassline. We'd also recommend Detroit artist Shawescape Renegade's deep, hypnotic revision of 'ADSR606', which adds new layers of bittersweet melancholia to the already emotive track.

New Sonic Spaces
Review: Sound Synthesis returns to Eudemonia with yet another four squelchy sonic stasis-pods for us to climb into. No fluff, all chuff, we kick off with 'Music Love Eternity', a low-vocoded robot murmuration set to a confident acid burble and festooned synth tops; then there's the dripping wet 'Ghost Particles', the highlight, with its tremblingly cold backing washes; then on the B comes 'Cosmic Dance' and 'New Sonic Spaces', which continue to revel in cheesy awe and wonder at the sheer expanse of the beyond.

Sound Synthesis - "Magical Harmonies" (6:14)
Hermeth - "Berlin Sunrise" (5:26)
Caramel Chameleon - "Bordone Acid" (5:43)
Larionov - "Solar Wind" (5:43)
Review: An exciting four tracker from Eudaimonia Records here, presenting the simple task of exploring the outer reaches of the world we find ourselves in through the lens of acid. Both time-honoured and fresh-faced artists appear on this selectors' compilation and their tracks recall everything from the more space-agey, low-register corners of acid electro to the sunnier, arpier, R&S-style breaks.

Review: Having already showcased his deep, spacey and melodious brand of electro on Brokntoys, Vertical67 is a near perfect fit for the similarly focused Eudemonia label - an imprint that famously funnels money into supporting projects in conflict areas. Vertical67's first release on the label, The Early Hours EP, is as impressive as you'd expect, with skittish electro beats and occasional breakbeats providing the perfect backdrop for bubbly acid lines, yearning chords, surprisingly funky synth-bass and emotive melodies by the bucketload. Highlights-wise, we're really enjoying the colourful, morning-fresh shimmer of 'Split Your Soul', and the crunchy, squelchy and dreamy title track.

An Activity Cycle (5:30)
Protostellar Cloud (4:36)
Review: Zeta Reticula is the electro alias of Slovenian techno titan Umek and for more than 20 years now he has been serving up sounds from the vanguard. After a fine outing back in June he quickly follows it up with another adventurous 12", this time on Eudemonia. His style is cinematic and as heavy on the synth details and lush atmospheres as it is the rhythms. There is plenty of far-sighted melodic majesty to these cuts - a sense of forlornness and rueful reflection that always brings real meaning to the dancefloor. The subtle but rising sense of joy and euphoria in 'An Activity Cycle' makes it our fav here.
