Minimal/Tech House
Effected (10:09)
Sunset Soul (10:35)
Review: Given his impressive track record and rising star status, it was probably only a matter of time before Cosmin Nastasa AKA Cosmjn popped up on East Enderz. This time round, the Romanian producer seems to be in a particularly positive mood. Certainly, A-side "Effected" - a jaunty affair built around a bold, attention-grabbing bassline, punchy drums and drowsy, sun-kissed synthesizer chords - is amongst the cheeriest tracks he's released to date. On the flip, "Sunset Soul" is a little closer to his trademark tech-house fare, with spacey pads and fizzing electronics wrapping themselves around a pleasingly rubbery groove.

Minimal/Tech House
Kapa (7:28)
Attraction (7:19)
Fix Me (7:20)
Drain In Pain (7:49)
Review: For those who love the distinctively druggy sound of Romanian tech-house and minimal techno, each new COSMJN release is a must-check. Here he returns to EASTENDERZ for the first time in a while with a rock solid four-tracker. He begins in confident fashion on "Kapa", where fluttering electronic motifs bubble away atop crunchy drums and a tightly cyclical bassline, before opting for a more spacey and futurist feel on rolling tech-house gem "Attraction" (it, too, features a bassline that will wriggle its way into your subconscious). Those looking for an altogether more trippy vibe should check out the weird aural textures, squidgy acid bass and ghostly chords of "Fix Me", while "Drain In Pain" is dreamier and more loved-up than your average inebriated sunrise bunk-up.

6 Years Of Eastenderz Pt 1
6 Years Of Eastenderz Pt 1 (marbled vinyl 12")
Cat: ENDZ 039. Rel: 25 Sep 20

Minimal/Tech House
Floog - "Games Of Drones" (7:39)
Cosmjn - "Cosmo Acids" (7:17)
Vlad Arapasu - "Egoland" (7:42)
Wickham - "Mello" (7:01)
Review: East End Dubs' Eastenderz label keeps on turning out hugely functional but also charming dub tech that is stripped back to its bones and laced with funk. This new various artist EP packs a powerful punch from the off, with Floog laying down some vital kicks and whirring machine sounds to send any floor into overdrive. Cosmjn then takes us to another planet with his dreamy pads and Vlad Arapasu's 'Egoland' sounds like a classic Terry Francis cut from the mid-90s, so in other words, pure fire. There's no mucking around on 'Mello', a razor sharp closer with hi hats that would cut though steel.

Minimal/Tech House
Wickham - "Digsy" (7:11)
Viceversa - "Aden" (8:39)
Doubtingthomas - "Jegun" (9:25)
Cosmjn - "Butterfly Drop" (10:09)
Review: The Eastenderz label drop their 20th outing to date, just in time for the Easter weekend! That means you'll be able to smash out some killer house on the floor, and these tools are just what you need to do be able to do that. Wickham's "Digsy" kicks off with a delightful injection of bass, pushing a fat groove over a vast 7 minutes of bounciness, while Viceversa's "Aden" tones the pace down and heads into the murkier end of the deep house scale. On the flip, Doubtingthomas comes thorugh with "Jegun", a space-age roller with vast synths extending the track's reach, leaving Cosmjn's "Butterfly Drop" to deliver one final shot of bass-driven house that can only be smashed out on a jam-packed dancefloor. Badness from the Eastenderz!
