Review: Detroit's Filthiest is a no frills producer who bangs together elements of electro, ghetto and jungle with techno to make visceral, physical tracks designed only to get a floor jacking. This latest aural assault, however, shows a different and more atmospheric side. It comes on Defrostatica and kicks off with the jerking rhythms and crashing hits of 'Get The Strap.' 'Secure The Bag' is a more thoughtful track with ambient pads and plenty of open space above the crisp drums and 'Failure 2 Launch' is a mid tempo rhythm with deft pads and certain sensitivity. It's the final tune 'Motor City Blues' that takes the best track award here - forlorn trumpets over dusty, tumbling broken beats with deep house chords and plenty of Motor City soul.
