  3. D'Angelos Pie (4:49)
  4. Once In A Lifetime Edition (4:18)
Review: Livin' Proof co-founder Snips serves up some crafty edits for London based Barbershop Records. On the A side he provides a flawless resplice of one of Jill Scott's neo-soul golden oldies, followed by a re-rub of another American songstress on "Wanna Down A Brandy?" which gets properly lo-slung. On the flip, Snips slows things down a little on the blunted urban blues of "D'Angelos Pie" (no guesses there!) and some slo-mo R'N'B on the smooth groove of "Once In A Lifetime Edition". With over 15 years experience as one of London's most prolific DJs with over 10 years worth of production credits across hip-hop's underground - you're in good hands on Edits Vol 1.

  4. Pennies For My Thoughts (feat Awate) (3:13)
Review: DJ and beat-maker Snips has been part of the fabric of London's underground music scene for the best part of two decades. Dedicated to life in his home city, it sees him serve up a quartet of killer cuts that successfully touch on many of his strongest influences. The sumptuous UK R&B/modern soul jam "Broke My Heart", featuring superb vocals from Emmavie, and head-nodding hip-hop cut "Pennies For My Thoughts", which boasts fine flows from rapper Awate, sails closest to his previous output. Yet it's the EP's two deep house workouts - the dusty, sample-heavy brilliance of "My Queen" and jaunty, horn-laden bounce of William Stowe hook-up "The Product" - that arguably hit home hardest.
