Rollover Edit Service Vol 5
Cat: ROLL 005. Rel: 13 Oct 20

Disco/Nu-Disco
Enzo (Lele Sacchi rework) (5:56)
Giorgia (Jack Torsani edit) (5:56)
Espresso (Nathan Joy edit) (10:08)
The Duke Arrives (Pyramiden rework) (6:13)
Review: The Rollover Edit series from Anything Goes reaches volume number 5 with four more fantastic reworks that cover plenty of ground. Lele Sacchi serves up a a folk and Americana tinged version of 'Enzo' that is new age and organic. Jack Torsani takes 'Giorgia' into disco territory with big choruses and crashing hits all forming a strident groove while 'Espresso' delivers a direct caffeine hit in rolling disco form. The best might be saved for last, though, because 'The Duke Arrives (Pyramiden rework)' is a high speed police chase with funky bass and bristling grooves that are alive with great samples.

Rollover Edit Service Vol 1
Cat: ROLL 001. Rel: 17 Jan 18

Balearic/Downtempo
Che Cavolo Di Vita Fai (Rollover edit) (5:44)
Honey (Boot & Tax rework) (7:51)
Phil Hip Pony (Bottin edit) (4:40)
Sunshine (Hober Mallow rework) (7:28)
Review: Welcome to the "Rollover Edit Service", a brand new "anything goes" rework series from the crew behind acclaimed weekly Milan party Rollover. Fittingly, they kick things off with a wonderful tweak of a bubbly Balearic gem from the synth-pop era. With its Italian vocals, eyes-closed sax solos, dreamy synths and layered percussion fills, it sounds like the kind of jam that Alfredo would have played at Amnesia in 1986. Boot and Tax steps up next with the eccentric, sample-heavy throb of "Honey" - think thrusting, fuzzy bass, slow house beats and Nina Simone vocals - before Italo-disco revivalist Bottin gets busy with some glassy, tongue-in-cheek Italian synth-pop. Arguably best of all, though, is the "Sunshine" edit from newcomer Hover Mallow, which sits somewhere between Balearic disco-house and hypnotic nu-disco.

Rollover Edit Service Vol 4
Cat: ROLL 004. Rel: 18 Mar 20

Balearic/Downtempo
Le Soleil Bateau (Ferraroni edit) (5:04)
NYC Lights (Jacques Renault edit) (7:03)
Dio Come Ti Amo (Makossa edit) (5:03)
Di Di No (Pasta edit) (5:37)
Review: The Anything Goes "Rollover Edit Service" continues apace with this latest grip of four unique choices of forgotten disco treasure to get a 2020 spruce up. Ferraroni is on "Le Soleil Bateau", a sunkissed schooner by any measure with a Balearic tint in the easy tempo and cheery disposition. Jacques Renault brings equally slick vibes with "NYC Lights", which teeters between yacht rock and synth pop to perfection. Makossa's edit of "Dio Come Ti Amo" is a more reflective cut, subtly dubbed and revolving around an introspective guitar hook. Pasta brings the tempo back up with a version of "Di Di No" that will have party people young and old dancing in unison.

Rollover Edit Service Vol 3
Cat: ROLL 003. Rel: 19 Jun 19

Balearic/Downtempo
Mimi (Rollover edit) (6:06)
Genius (Leo Mas & Fabrice edit) (6:41)
Io & Te (Mark:eno edit) (6:29)
Dillo Ancora (Abbrangeli edit) (5:43)
Review: To our ears, Rollover's ongoing "Edit Service" series has delivered some of the most interesting, obscure and intoxicating re-edits of recent times. The Milanese crew and their associates are in fine form again on volume three. They begin by offering up a re-shape of a pleasingly percussive, hypnotic and off-kilter chunk of pared-back Afro goodness (the drum-heavy quirkiness of "Mimi"), before Italian scene veterans Fabrice and Leo Mas go all low-slung and spacey on the dub disco chug of "Genius". Mark:eno savagely (and brilliantly) chops up a cosmic chunk of obscure disco-funk on "Io & Te", while Abbrangeli has his/her wicked way with a sleazy disco workout on druggy-but-funky closing cut "Dillo Ancora". In a word: essential.
