Review: 'Acid'(when referring to the TB-303 hardware that makes the sound, that is) is rarely leant into as an artistic inspiration - it's usually just used as a tool for making a cool sound. That all changed with the launch of Acid Avengers recently, a French series that not only showcases the various artists behind the contemporary acid techno scene in France, but which treats acid as an entire universe unto its own right. Post-apocalyptic acid mutants blessed with powers of tactile corrosion are portrayed on their front covers, matching the raucous vibe of armageddon portrayed through their contributing tracks - here from twin doom harbingers Jacquarius and Mono Enzyme 307.
