Decius return with steamy car wash video and Vol2 album set for January 2025
“Workin’ at the car wash, girl“
Decius, the ‘supergroup of sorts’ featuring Lias Saoudi of Fat White Family, Trashmouth Records’ Luke and Liam May, and Quinn Whalley of Paranoid London and Warmduscher, have shared a steamy video for the first track from a forthcoming new LP.
Decius Vol. II (Splendour & Obedience) has been slated for relaease on January 31, 2025 on The Leaf Label. The first track ‘Walking In The Heat’ was shared today, complete with a video which features Lias aka Meat Divine performing a sensual car wash dressed in a pair of rubber shorts.
The video, directed by Niall Trask, also features a final scene cameo from Alex Sebly, frontman with Juno Daily favourites PREGOBLIN, as a mechanic who picks up a discarded Decius cassette.
“My mate Rob says he can no longer make love without first sticking Vol. I on the stereo,” Saoudi says. “A lot of the lads down Berghain have been complaining of a similar problem since we played there. Once you’ve had Vol. I, you need Vol. II. With Vol. II, we hope to further inspire and extend this kind of desperate dependence in our acolytes.
“There have been moments on stage when the division between all things ceases, when the only element binding anything together is pure, unadulterated, fanatical passion. It’s at moments like these you need to reach for your butterfly net to try and harvest the magic for later.”
The first Decius album was Juno Daily’s number two album of 2022, and gained widespread acclaim for its combination of acid, disco, techno and original Chicago house.
