DJ Bone and 200 other speakers lined up for Haarlem Vinyl Festival’s second edition
25,000 visitors expected to head to Haarlem in search of black gold
DJ Bone (pictured) is one of literally hundreds of speakers lined up for the second Haarlem Vinyl Festival at the end of this month.
The Dutch city is expected to welcome 25,000 visitors for three days and nights spent celebrating vinyl culture in Patronaat, PHIL and 30 other venues and locations in downtown Haarlem.
As well as DJ Bone, who closed his Subject Detroit institution to open the new FURTHER label, the event’s latest confirmed names include European Vampire, Freek de Jonge, HUNK, Jenn D’Eugenio, Joost Swarte, Lefto Early Bird, Merol, Morpheus, ROLROLROL, Shishani, and Zwarte Liefde.
In addition to a free record fair, which will be held outdoors on the Dreef this year, there will be a comprehensive vinyl culture program in the city, featuring live music and DJ sets, exhibitions, films, and theater at more than 35 venues.
Director Richard Zijlma said: “With the Haarlem Vinyl Festival, we have quickly created a unique space where visitors and artists can experience both old and new music culture. From Altın Gün to Bettie Serveert, to Chuckie, Merol, and the choir ensemble Zang en Vriendschap, everything comes together in the love for vinyl.”
In addition to being the central hang-out for the Haarlem Vinyl Festival, PHIL will also be the venue for the European edition of the renowned Making Vinyl conference from Monday, September 30 to Wednesday, October 2, where the latest trends and insights in the vinyl industry will be shared:
The Haarlem Vinyl Festival, due to its size and scope, is globally unique in its kind and will take place from Friday, September 27 to Sunday, September 29, 2024. For the full program and available tickets, visit: haarlemvinylfestival.com.
