Juno Daily – In The Mix: Tilman
A Spirit-ed performance from Tilman in the mix

Pleasant Systems label head Tilman is ultra productive and has been pretty much since he started honing his craft in 2008, delving into pretty much every cross-section of disco, deep house, proto-garage and Chicago house imaginable.
But full length albums from the German are pretty rare. Indeed, his latest long player The Spirit Continues, is his first for five years. It’s well worth the wait though, described by our reviewer as “a faithful recreation of a convergent set of classic sounds…” with a particular emphasis on 80s Nu Groove-era tracks.
To celebrate its imminent release he’s created a special mix for Juno Daily that explores some of the influences that shaped its blend of sturdy, jacking rhythm sections, ethereal atmospherics, bumpy bass lines, shimmering chord sequences, infectious vocals and enchanting top lines. He told us: “In this mix, I wanted to showcase the music that influenced me for ‘The Spirit Continues,’ along with a club night mix, all condensed into an hour.”
