Pioneer DJ parent company AlphaTheta have announced an update to the brand’s Rekordbox software, which underpins most of the organisation’s DJ tools. Rekordbox 7 is a major update, introducing a new GUI with improved browsing for your own files as well as streaming services. Less immediately obvious, there are also big improvements to the operation of the software, with AlphaTheta claiming that version 7 requires up to 56% less processing load and 38% lower power consumption during startup. Improved filtering, AI-based track suggestions and Collection Radar help you organise files and create playlists, while Intelligent Cue Creation helps automate hot cue and memory cue placement.
