Sleaford Mods to support reissue of classic Divide & Exit album with small venues tour

Plus, see Cold War Steve’s specially commissioned new cover art

Sleaford Mods are to mark the tenth anniversary of their much celebrated Divide & Exit album with a new edition of the LP, a new sleeve and a tour of small venues.

The album – out on July 26 – contains the fan favourites ‘Tied Up In Nottz’, ‘Tiswas’ and ‘Tweet Tweet Tweet’, the track which has been the closing track of the duo’s live shows for many years. The new edition will feature a free flexidisc containing the unreleased track ‘Git Some Balls’ and a new sleeve designed by celebrated political collage satarist Cold War Steve, seemingly referencing the mention of a “St George’s Cross on white van” in ‘Tweet Tweet Tweet’ and starring pro-Brexit Wetherspoons boss Tim Martin in the foreground. The artist also recently created the video for the title track of their UK Grim album.

Dates for the Autumn tour – designed to take place at grassroots venues the size that the pair were playing ten years ago – are:

19 November – Sheffield – The Leadmill

20 November – Edinburgh – La Belle Angèle

21 November – Newcastle upon Tyne – University of Northumbria

23 November – Liverpool – The Florrie

26 November – Lincoln – The Drill

28 November – Exeter – The Lemon Grove

29 November – Portsmouth – The Wedgewood Rooms

30 November – Nottingham – Bodega

Sleafords singer Jason Williamson said: “Where our previous album Austerity Dogs barked a directionless yet solid form of anger, Divide and Exit then carried this basic form of class consciousness. After the release of Austerity Dogs we realised we had seemingly created a formula. Andrew just took the formula and ran with it and his music started to sound much more compact and urgent.”
