Acid Klaus enlists Maxine Peake and Lias Saoudi for new Golden Lion Sounds EP

Hear the lead track now

Acid Klaus is to release his first new vinyl since his Juno Daily album of the year in 2022 through Golden Lion Sounds – and it sees him joined by two of his well known collaborators.

Adrian Flanagan aka Acid Klaus is joined by actor Maxine Peake – who also featured on that debut album Step On My Travelator and is a member of his Eccentronic Research Council outfit with Dean Honer – and Lias Saoudi, singer with Fat White Family, Decius and another Flanagan project The Moonlandingz. Philly Piper of his live band – who voiced his previous single ‘You’re A Freak’ – provides vocals on the lead track.

‘Aerodromes’, the first track from the five track ‘P.T.S.D. By Proxy’ EP has been shared today.

The EP also features new artists such as the Queen of the Sheffield DIY scene Rosey PM and Welsh language singer songwriter and regular Acid Klaus live collective singer Cat Rin, along with short readings of prose from Peake and Saoudi.

“The EP is my artistic response to the horrific vista forced upon me as the earth wobbles perilously on its axis like a drunk and foul mouthed broke and broken auntie. It’s dance music you can cry too – or if you point blank refuse to look out of the window – just for dancing too whilst remaining in a state of ‘pig ignorant’ bliss!’

“For me as an artist it’s important that someone documents this time of great historical mess by utilising heavenly voices, robotic sonics, bangin’ beats, street poetry, space chants and nifty synthetic arpeggiations whilst still remaining deep in the ice cold moment of reality.”

The vinyl is expected on September 6, with digital downloads on July 15. All profits from the digital release will go to MAPS (Medical Assistance To Palestine).
