Bjork, Philip Glass and Kronos Quartet guest on latest from Planet Mu’s JLIN
First new LP in seven years from the celebrated producer
Bjork, Philip Glass and Kronos Quartet have all contributed to a new album from Planet Mu’s celebrated footwork artist JLIN.
Planet Mu boss Mike Paradinas told Juno Daily: “It’s her most varied album yet” and paid tribute to the producer from Gary, Indiana for her loyalty to the label. “She stuck with us despite offers from XL, Rough Trade, Warp etc”
Akoma, scheduled for release on March 22, follows such prestigious projects as her production work for the Pulitzer Prize shortlisted ‘Perspective’ for Third Coast Percussion and ‘Godmother’, her AI-powered collaboration with Holly Herndon and remixes for µ-Ziq, Factory Floor, Ben Frost, Max Richter, Björk and Martin Gore among others.
