Premiere – hear Owain K’s super smooth graceful techno workout ‘New Horizons’
The Bristol-born, Welsh-rooted producer slips us a sneak peek
The sixth outing on the Innate label offers up a superb split EP. Gilbert delivering A-side tracks ‘Low Flying Objects’, “a widescreen and serene bit of synth-laden tendon” says our reviewer and the “brain-cleansing and celestial electro-styled” ‘Unknown Entities’. Owain K, who is based in Bristol but previously lived in Cardiff and “supports Wales in the rugby”, then provides B-side duties with ‘Corona Borealis’ and the luxuriously smooth techno of ‘New Horizon’.
It’s this closing tune that Owain has very kindly offered up as an exclusive for Juno Daily listeners to get a load of before the EP’s official release on September 4.
“We’re really excited to be releasing our own music out on this latest EP,” he told us. “Gilbert and myself put a lot of love into what we do, and we only like to commit to a release when we know the music is right. ‘New Horizon’ is a particularly special cut as it was one of the first productions where I started to feel I was hitting my stride with the kind of sounds I wanted to bring together. So, to finally get it pressed to a 12″ almost ten years later is particularly special for me.”
