Mathew Jonson releases first new EP since 2013
New release is a space-themed three tracker
Mathew Jonson has released his first solo EP since 2013, as he makes his Half Baked Records debut with ‘Spaceport 23’.
The release builds on the Canadian’s close friendship with the London favourites and his long-standing appearances in the capital, delivering a trio of interpretations of the title track for all hours of the night.
Jonson said of EP: “Spaceport 23 is meant to be a futuristic look at music and synthesizers from the past. It’s a study of the Rhodes Chroma, which has the amazing ability to recreate the tonality of electro acoustic instruments. The Fender Rhodes and organ sounds are synthetic. It’s not jazz or techno, but something from outer space.” –
