Premiere – Sindh shares Gupta Tribes album opener
Ancient and modern combine in Sindh’s addictive ritual-tronics
Sindh is a project from producer Louis Rapet using modular synths and real percussion to create ambient spaces and complex, irresistible grooves.
Gupta Tribes, his first album, is inspired by an old civilization that lived in India long ago, and with it Rapet tries to harness the atmospheres of a period when religion and sacred rites represented a big part of the people’s lives.
The album’s out on November 14 on Sindh’s own eponymous label, but he’s kindly extended an invitation to Juno Daily readers to experience its opening track ‘Ashvamedha’, a swampy and atmospheric soundscape that will instantly transport you to warmer and more exotic climes.
