Premiere – hear Gerd Janson’s remix of Partenope’s UR-influenced ‘Odysseia’
German Janson at his best
The Neapolis label have delivered a properly exclusive premiere for us this week – German techno icon Gerd Janson remixing Neapolitan producer Partenope.
Given that the Partenope track title ‘Odesseia’ inevitably brings mythical ancient Greek island hopping hero Odysseus to mind, you might not be surprised to hear he’s opted to go for something big, bold and rather epic. So epic, in fact, that they even draw a comparison – not undeserved either – to the mighty Underground Resistance in their publicity blurb.
Gerd Janson takes on remix duties on the B-side and doesn’t disappoint, with a version that’s a three way tussle between acid house, techno the original minimal trance of KLF. It’s driving but executed with a trademark warmth that often underlines Janson mixes.
