FlyLo:
words can’t describe how influential Vangelis’s music has been in my life and especially on “Yasuke”. Yall know this one cuts deep. RIP to the legend! https://t.co/5aASJjfPI5

Guy didn’t know any music theory and just taught himself to play 8 keyboards at once 100% on instinct. Absolute legend. Wild to think that sort of music was in the pop charts also.
Otto Von Biz Markie:
RIP Vangelis, who could make a decaying sci-fi dystopia sound gorgeous and eerie, creating haunted futures of the now, inspiring El-P and NIN, countless chillwave and ambient artists, and anyone wary that space might not be the place. https://t.co/8hfI8YEbTn

Vangelis’ music was especially known for its impact on drum n’ bass, with his influence helping to secure many of the genre’s cosmic and sci-fi themes. Artists such as Dillinja, Goldie, Dom & Roland and Distance have all routinely sampled Vangelis’ work. Among the most notable of these tracks include Dillinja’s ‘The Angels Fell’, which lifts the piano from ‘Blade Runner Blues’ and sets it against a backdrop of hard techstep. Many new drum n’ bass artists including Halogenix, TC, Reso and TeeBee have paid tribute:
Tonight I am watching Blade Runner.
