Robert Haigh of Omni Trio fame announces new ambient LP Human Remains
Former junglist hero Haigh continues his post-Omni Trio ambient series…

Robert Haigh, better known by his former drum n’ bass alias Omni Trio, has announced his next ambient album, ‘Human Remains’, released via the Unseen Worlds imprint on March 18, 2022.
The album follows up his previous LP Black Sarabande, which was previously thought to be Haigh’s final album. It also follows ‘Creatures Of The Deep’ as the final installment of a trilogy of piano-based recordings – marking the end of the late era of solo albums by Haigh, as he steps away from music production.
Known for his drum n’ bass releases made throughout the 90s as Omni Trio, Haigh is known for his affiliation with the Moving Shadow label, as well as underground hits like Renegade Snares.
Haigh’s newer work under his birthname is lesser known. However, he has been actively releasing ambient music since 2007, recently turning to US imprint Unseen Worlds.
Unseen Worlds label owner Tommy said of the album: “The reasons [for Black Sarabande being Haigh’s last album] were unclear to me – it almost seemed to be an afterthought – but I accepted it without much question. I also wasn’t sure how to broadcast the message for such a private artist that doesn’t like to be paraded, so I mostly didn’t say anything about it. For an artist with such a long career and devoted following, it seemed like some notice was owed that never came.”
“It was a relief then that Robert ended up turning in this project with a more concrete plan that this would be his final new album production. There may be future soundtrack work or archival releases coming, but he’s stepping away from music production to focus on painting and other creative pursuits. He’d like to avoid narrow finalities like “retirement” and use instead sentiments reflecting the intentionality of his pivot to other artistic pursuits like “stepping away.”
The title, Human Remains, was initially based on a painting of the same name by Haigh, which suggests an ancient structure resolute in the wake of overwhelming forces – a metaphor for current times.
