Orbital revisit ‘Satan’ classic with ’30 Something Years Later’ Mix
The Hartnolls re-work ‘Satan’ after three decades
Orbital have revisited their early classic and live favourite ‘Satan’ with a new version, released in digital form today.
The legendary duo have taken the 1991 breakbeat workout from their ”III’ EP and via the new ’30 Something Years Later’ mix have turned it into a more electro-slanted if equally passionate piece, informed by three decades of performing the track live.
A statement from the Hartnoll brothers said: “Satan, written before the dawn of chime. Through thick and thin it has always remained in the live set. This track has naturally evolved, shape-shifting over time, taking on many forms. This current incarnation of Satan is how we play it now. It is a far cry from its humble beginnings harking back to the Belgium Nu Beat style which was popular at the time Satan was born in Dunton Green.”
Orbital’s ‘Satan’ (30 Something Years Later Mix) is out now on Orbital Recordings Ltd. via London Records. Keep a close eye on the Orbital artist page for news of the track’s arrival in vinyl form.
