D Double E and Chip team up for ‘G’s Only’

Newham General also embarks on UK tour in December

Pioneering grime MC D Double E – one half of noted duo Newham Generals – has teamed up with fellow rapper Chip for a new single, ‘G’s Only’. 

His first solo release since his 2020 album D.O.N.’ – due to be reissued in deluxe vinyl format in 2022 – and produced by prolific grime beatsmith Silencer, the new single is humorously themed after smoking weed.

D.O.N., an acronym for ‘Double Or Nothing’, charted new sonic ground for the rapper, who came up in grime’s early heyday as a member of the N.A.S.T.Y. Crew alongisde Ghetts, Kano and Jammer before founding the Newham Generals supergroup with Footsie. 

The new single comes as D Double E announces his debut live tour in 2022, which will visit Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, London and Bristol, with support from Lewisham grime MC Novelist, as well as other special guests.
