Skream launches new label IFEEL with Berghain resident-remixed ‘Chesters Groove’ EP
Dubstep pioneer invites Berghain resident Norman Nodge to remix first release on IFEEL.
Skream is to launch his new label IFEEL next month with the three track ‘Chesters Groove’ EP.
The Croydon legend, real name Oliver Jones, has already become a tastemaker and A&R man of some repute through his label Of Unsound Mind, releasing music from the likes of Sfire, Black Girl / White Girl and Richie Blacker. He says of IFEEL: “I wanted to create a label solely for my own productions, in any genre I feel like.”
The ‘Chesters Groove’ EP will also feature two techno remixes – a Ying mix and a second Yang version – from Berghain-resident Norman Nodge. It’s set for release on May 21.
Contemporary artist INSA has been tasked with creating the unique artwork for the label, following experiments in the social and digital media spheres. Coining the term ‘GIF-ITI’, INSA pioneered the process of creating GIF animation from graffiti, where a wall is painted several times before each layer photographed then overlaid to create the final piece.
