Korg set to reissue MiniKorg 700 and ARP 2600
Two classic analogue synths set for re-release this year.
Alongside announcements of a new drum machine and an all-new wavetable synth, Korg have announced two new reissues of classic synths. The 2600M is a miniaturised version of the legendary ARP 2600 modular, released in limited-edition full-size form as the 2600FS last year.
Meanwhile, the MiniKorg 700FS is a limited-edition full-size reissue of one of Korg’s earliest synths, the 1974 monophonic MiniKorg 700.
The Korg ARP 2600M is around 60% of the size of the original, a move we’ve seen Korg pull with other synths in the past. That makes it slightly more portable than the original and also slightly more affordable, expected to arrive in April priced at £1,620. It retains exactly the same synth circuitry as the FS model, with a revised spring reverb to fit into the smaller case.
The limited-edition MiniKorg 700FS, meanwhile, is set to cost £1,779.
