Spotify set to withdraw support for DJ controllers. Here’s how you can keep streaming…

The music platform will no longer allow you to stream via controllers or DJ software, but there are alternative streaming solutions available. Plus: a note on Juno shipping as normal.

A note on shipping during the Covid-19 outbreak: In light of current events, we’d like to give you an update on what’s happening at Juno. We’re taking the necessary steps to ensure our staff are safe, while continuing to deliver your orders as normal. All orders are being sent as usual, and if you order before 5pm GMT your order will be despatched the same day. We have an in-stock guarantee, so everything that is showing as in-stock on the website is in our warehouse and ready to ship to you. Find out more here.

Users of Pioneer controllers and other previously compatible equipment will no longer be able to stream music from Spotify from July 1st, as the streaming giant withdrew support for DJ software.

Popular controllers such as the Pioneer DDJ-400 and Reloop Beatpad 2 offered real-time Spotify streaming services via apps like Algoriddim Djay, Serato Pyro and Pacemaker, allowing users to mix tracks from the platform’s extensive catalogue of music.

The good news is that DJing with music from streaming platforms will still be possible, just not from Spotify. Tidal and SoundCloud both allow you to stream music directly through compatible DJ controllers and software.

Scroll down for Algoriddim’s announcement of Tidal and SoundCloud support. Full details of how to migrate your playlists from Spotify can be found on the Algoriddim site.
