Rhythm Based Lovers experiences Frequency Illusion

Future Times have scored some new material from one of Jason Letkiewicz’s lesser spotted aliases.

Known best for his work as Steve Summers on labels such as L.I.E.S., Clone’s Jack For Daze division and his own Confused House, Jason Letkiewicz has several other projects in his figurative locker with recorded output dating back over a decade. Of these, Rhythm Based Lovers remains a lesser-used alias, with three singles issued between 2008-9 all unified by a hazy, rough round the edges slant on italo and boogie-inspired house sounds. One of these Rhythm Based Lovers singles formed the second ever Future Times release in the form of the Boogie Vision/Snow Drift 7″ and Max D’s label have now coaxed some fresh material out of Letkiewicz.

Due out later this month, the two-track Frequency Illusion 12″ can be previewed below with Future Times suggesting it shows two contrasting sides to Letkiewicz’s approach as Rhythm Based Lovers. The title track is “a glorious slap of vibro-house for the deejay crew” whilst flipside cut “Numbers Game” veers off into “slow hypnotic funk.” This Rhythm Based Lovers 12″ follows a fine Max D album on the label with a one-sided debut for newcomer Will DiMaggio on the horizon too.

Future Times will release Frequency Illusion by Rhythm Based Lovers on May 9.
