Posh Isolation releases various artist compilation
The 3×7″ compilation gathers “six voices in contemporary Scandinavian experimental electronic music.”
When it comes to electronic music emanating from Scandinavia, it’s Sweden’s rejuvenated scene that’s hogging much of the limelight at the moment, but it’s worth sparing a thought for Denmark. Trentemøller may be the obvious name to cite when looking at the Danish electronic music, yet Copenhagen’s Culture Box club and associated Echocord label has long-powered the city’s taste for techno, while for industrial, noise and other ambient sounds there’s Posh Isolation, a label, fledging distributor and record store also based in Copenhagen. Headed up by dapper noise duo Damien Dubrovnik, the independent operation is widely known for its voluminous catalogue of obscure cassette releases, with a working relationship with Swedish artist Varg very apparent.
Posh Isolation have just revealed their latest release is an intriguing six-track, 3×7″ compilation called Love Grew Rings Around Me, collecting what they say is, “six voices in contemporary Scandinavian experimental electronic music.” While any of the names are far from instantly recognisable, music from one half of Damien Dubrovnik, Loke Rahbek, does make the cut, as do the sounds of Vit Fana, the artist responsible for Northern Electronics’ 12th release. Fana is also part of the Body Sculptures project with Rahbek, Varg and Erik Enocksson who released the The Base Of All Beauty Is The Body album on Posh Isolation last year. Other artists on the compilation to make a return visit to the label include Gothenburg’s Arv & Miljö and Broken Lights. For more information visit Posh Isolation.
