Future Times announce new Max D album
Boost is the label boss’s third album and will arrive in February.
Future Times has enjoyed a fine year under the stewardship of Andrew Field-Pickering. A standout third volume of their Vibe compilation series, and Jack J’s ubiquitous “Thirstin'” are the highlights of a release schedule that’s also introduced new additions to the Future Times family in Mosey, Japa Habilidoso, and imminently Shanti Celeste. Along with a clutch of contributions to Vibe 3 under his various production guises, Field-Pickering has himself landed a Max D 12″ on Off Minor Recordings, overseen the wonderful Lifted album issued via PAN, and had a hand in the superb Beautiful Swimmers mixtape on The Trilogy Tapes.
If you follow the label as closely as we do, you’ll be aware there have been whispers of a third Max D album from Field-Pickering, and Future Times have now outlined details of what to expect. Due for release in February, Boost is a sharp and sweet seven-track LP mixed down in Amsterdam with the able assistance of Jordan Czamanski. Boost represents the first solo album Field-Pickering has released through Future Times, with RVNG Intl. and RAMP the platforms for his previous two long players. The tumbling, crystalline 808 action of “Rhythm Automator” can be heard below for an idea of what to expect from an album described as “seven songs acting on instinct.”
Future Times will release Boost by Max D in February.
