Mistakes Are Ok returns

A new 12″ called Forgiven will arrive later this month ahead of a long-mooted debut album on Hivern Discs.

Wizened followers of Hiverns Discs will be familiar with the name Mistakes Are Ok, an unknown quantity who surfaced on the Barcelona label back in 2012 with a debut 12″ featuring zero original material. Instead Hivern chose to tease their identity with a trio of high profile remixes from Kassem Mosse & Mix Mup, BNJMN, and the now-defunct production unit Downliners Sekt. This Mistakes Are Ok Remixes 12″ was accompanied by the suggestion a full album from the artist was on the way for Hivern Discs, though one has never transpired despite the odd remix commission here and there.

Today saw Hivern Discs lift the lid on the identity of Mistakes Are Ok, revealing the project is the work of local Barcelona artist Franc Sayol who has been involved in the label since it’s very inception. The label are living up to their promise of a debut album from Mistakes Are Ok, with Nowhere Near due out on Hivern Discs early next year. Prior to that, a new 12″ from Mistakes Are Ok will arrive later this month, with Forgiven featuring a track from the forthcoming album backed with a pair of remixes from Giegling, Die Orakel, and White artist Edward. You can get an idea of the “hazy, psychedelic and emotional” style of Mistakes Are Ok on the below stream of “Forgiven”.

Hivern Discs will release Forgiven by Mistakes Are Ok on November 13.
