Anthony Naples Smacks Proibito
The four-track Smacks 12″ will arrive in December.
Earlier this year Anthony Naples delivered his debut album, Body Pill, via Kieran Hebden’s Text label, an eight-track set which saw the Florida native eschew the trappings of many a techno long player in favour of something more adventurous. Since then, Naples has set about realigning his label Proibito towards productivity; an alternate edition of the Royal Crown Of Sweden 12″ was issued in February, whilst the past few months have seen a delightful record from Huerco S. and the introduction of the unheralded Mio Mio.
Proibito will now end the year with a new 12″ from Naples called Smacks which is due to arrive in early December. According to his Facebook page, the four-track release is dedicated to Naples’ friend David Miller and finds the Brooklyn-based producer returning to the floor-focussed material upon which he made his name. The somewhat melancholy B-side track “Bonobo” can be heard below for an idea of what to expect.
Proibito will release Smacks by Anthony Naples on December 8.
