New Blackest Ever Black 2CD mix en route

The Kiran Sande-compiled mix features exclusive Blackest Ever Black material and will arrive in late September.

Limited edition mixes have been a key element to Blackest Ever Black from the off, with key duo Raime and founder Kiran Sande (operating under the label’s name) contributing a series of highly sought after CDr selections that helped shape the crepulscular aesthetic. As Blackest Ever Black has developed into the stylistically multi-faceted entity it now is, their mixes have largely surfaced in cassette format through the Krokodilo Tapes offshoot with Pudel pairing Nina and Helena Hauff offering up highlights of these spool-shaped selections along with Going Good founder Brian Not Brian.

Sande has contributed several off the cuff mixes to Krokodilo Tapes since it launched, but is set to return with a “rather more slowly and fastidiously compiled” double CD mix as Blackest Ever Black called Id Mud. Taking its title from a poem by Gerry Rutz featured in the 1982 book A Rumoured City: New Poets From Hull, the 2CDr mix willl be issued in typically limited quantities at the end of September, with each 70-minute mix featuring several exclusive, “mystery” tracks from Blackest Ever Black artists. Id Mud is available to pre-order from the BEB site but as yet no tracklisting details have been provided.

Blackest Ever Black will release Id Mud in late-September.
